Do you guys think link is a good character for killing other characters early? such as under 100%? j/w other peoples inputs.

as with all things an opportunity may arise, but usually those occur either when a mistake happens, or if the level of play is that different, or the mind game that good. However, I find Link does not excel in commiting early kills. If he were to get any early kills the chances are greater when he's fighting a space animal, simply because of their trajectory of recovery, however even then nothing is guarenteed with this hero of time

Yeah, Link can have some of the longest fights because his gaurenteed KO's require either very high risk or near flawless execution. Quite simply, his attacks suck in terms of both damage and "kick." But yeah, early KO's are possible through exploiting certain game basics and varies greatly on your opponent. Essentially, if you got an eraly kill with Link, it didn't actualyl matter that it was Link, you probably could ahve gotten it with any other character.
But nailing Space Animals with a 6% spin attack kill is GREAT!

There are two ways of ending the game quick with Link I believe:
1) Swords spin spike: This move is VERY effective on characters such as Fox and falco. Whenever you send your oppoenet away from the stage, use this move to keep them away.
2) Sex kick: This is the other move that Link can finish up your oppoent in an early game. Use this move to interupt their get backs and most of time they can't come back at around 80%. (Edege hog in case)
Both of these moves need to first damge your oppoenet at around 70-80% damage in order to do it effectively.
Hope that helped.

edgeguarding basically >_> I tend to full jump off the stage, Nair, double Jump Nair again. I've never really killed myself doing this, then again I normally only use this on FD not sure how well it works on other stages.

aiser, that sounds like a good way to keep ur opponent off the stage, since, sometimes the first kick isn't enough. How do you get bak tho if u used ur double jump, do you up B bak? im guessing you stay relatively close to the stage, because I've tried this from far, and he wont up b back.

Of course--surprised nobody mentioned this yet--you would want to time the spin attack, when edge-guarding, so that it hits your opponent during the last frames of the move. If timed correctly, which isn't hard at all, it will result in a spike. Timing it is easy; however, setting up a skilled opponent correctly to give yourself the opportunity to land the spin attack during its ending animation, is more of a challenge. Of course, this method is subjective and should be used wisely; never randomly or profusely. Furthermore, I've used this move many a time to send my victims, ranging from none-to-low percent damage, to an early diagonally-downward KO.
* Remember this when attempting the spin-attack spike: it's not where you hit the opponent with the sword, but rather a matter of when you hit. Some get in the mindset that you must hit with the tip in order to spike, regardless when contact is made; not true. Also, I'm not sure if this move is really considered a true spike. I know some say it's a semi-spike, or whatever.

Some enemies can recover from it(kirby, jiggs and I think peach) the only thing you have to remember it to make sure you just hit them with the sword. If they touch Link durring any part of the spin they'll either hit him or be shot straight up. Unless they grab the edge, just stand a little farther back and when Fox/Falco tries with firejump back up you'll be in the perfect spot for a spin spike.

edgeguarding is one of the few ways that link can get early kills, as iankobe said, w/ sex kicks and upB pseudo spikes. i've gotten really lucky a couple of times playing my friend's Ganon where he'd Wizard's Foot (downB) while i'm by the edge, i'd sidestep, and as he tried to make it back, i'd pseudo-spike him w/ the upB for a 7% kill. it's really more situational than anything tho, it's not like Falco's spike and Marth's spike.
