It shouldn't be too dificult with practice. Search for Wak's advanced how to play video, it may help.

thx 8000, i'll look into that one... i played yesterday/tody and i'm getting better on the shffling now... i think the the problem was that you need to push the button much faster to l-cancel link's bair, fair and nair, than to cancel his dair and uair, isn' it?

All shffls are the same with button timing presses. Its the matter of when and where your character is when you should press L or R to Lag - Cancel. The Adv how to vid shows you when to L cancel.

But for every character their shffls timing between the steps are different. Lin's is around about on par with Capt Falcon's shffls. Fox's is boody quick and the slowest one would be Ganon/Boozer.

Regarding his bair, you should start the fast fall after his first kick. This way, you have far better chances of landing his second kick on an opponent, which is crucial for the reverse grab. Judging from your post, however, I don't think you're that advanced to worry about the reverse grab yet; I just thought I'd mention it. Buy anyway, try applying only slight pressure on R/L when you attempt to L-cancel.

thank you all guys... nice tips. i'm gonna put them into practice. and just a last question, concerning link's nair... do you guys think it's really necessary to L-cancel it? i know it becomes faster, but how faster is that, considering that his nair fast falled (not L-cancelled)is already fast?

yes thats true that it is fast, but to sum of the faster characters it wont change much if u dont L cancel it.. trust me it will go a long way learning it, especially wen u do it without having to think about it
eventually wen u start versing people who play very quick more often and find the uses of L cancelling used more, youll notice how it can change the effect of the game, or at least that hit/combo.. it helps lots.. good luck with it =)

why do people even try to argue that l-cancelling fast moves arent necessarry. is there even any harm for u to go to the trouble of pressing an extra button? no, now gtfo. stop being so lazy.

haha thx ppl.. i'm not gonna neglect L-cancelling any of the aerials from now on... i think you showed me that it's important.. now all i need is just to get used with doing it unconsciously all the time, which is the hardest part i believe.

as far as i know, the reverse grab is shffling link's bair, turning around and grabbing the opponent

Link's grab starts its hitbox behind him, which can essentially grab people.

*EDIT* That's what i did think, but i got a hankering to clairfy, pancho777 was right.

The u airs and dairs are also much easier notice dairs especially you can see the animation it's harder to tell with the others cause there's not such a noticeable animation, but trust me when you learn the l cancel you will notice the difference a lot. Here's my tip.. cause I had trouble with his other aerials other than d air as well when i was learning. On training or whatever else do a regular nair preferable short hop you can fast fall it or you cant doesn't really matter maybe try it without the fast fall to elarn the basic timing first but anyway. Do the nair in one spot don't l cancel it and try and do a spin attack as quick as possible upon ladning. It may take a second or anoticeable amoutn of time or more likely you'll try and do it and nothign will happen the first attempt. Than try doing that with the L cancel and if you do it right you'll be able to pull off a spin attack almost instantanesouly upon landing. You can try this for the other aerials another good way to learn is on b airs on f airs try shffl the first one and try and do anotehr one the moment you land, if you miss it you'll most likely be standing there or it wont register the next short hop and you'll do a tilt or smash move if you do it you'll be able to short hop again the moment the land, when you're doing it right you'll be able to pretty much be able to shffl in one spot continously without any pauses. You must learn L cancels if you wanan be competive with Link but once you get a hang of it it wil become second nature trust me I was trying without it to tell you the noticeable differences and just kept L canceling out of habit. It's basicaly a rythem and somethign that when you dolearn it'll make you Link exponentialy more effective

kyle, thx so much for taking the time and writing in details how to shffl, and more, a nice way to practice... i'm getting the hang of it, and now i'll use your method to see if i'm doing it correctly, and to get good on it.
