Need Help againts Facos

my friends little bro is only in the 8th grade but his falco is relly good and its a whole bunch of crap when i lose to hime because hes a stupid dork with no life that talk shiznets after he beats you because he has no life and just play smash day or night.

right off the bat he starts off with falcos stupid shb and its faster than i can pull out a bomb or thropw a boomer rang. and the shb is so anoying i cant jump out of the way and hes close enough to start his stupid combos at this moment and he got the falco wave shine and the stupid piller and the nair shuffel the (link dosent have the best air time recovery to escape these things) only way right now i defend is alway out of my shiled and i cant relly do nuthing to get away cause when i create distance agiain he just does that shb again and then im dead. so help please.

i can take him with my other characters but link is my main and i dont want to just not be able to beat stupid falcos. with their shb

Learn to powershield Falco's blasters. Mastering that will annoy any Falco.

yeah, powershielding falcos lasers really screw up his approach, but that's a little hard.

one thing i can tell you though, is pick a stage with platforms. if you stand on a platform, he can't approach with the shb. still, falco can combo Link to hell. just stay out of the way of his lasers and use lots of bombs and nairs...

he's also very easy to edgeguard, soif you get him off the edge you might be able to get an early kill with a spin spike or nairs.

that's pretty much all i can say. i get killed by Falcos too -_-

yea thxs dude power shilding is like rely hard and i thought of that but im not a lvl 9 computer so i gave that up put the plat forms work its just we lay random maps so when final destination coomes up im screwed

actually powershileding falcos lasers isnt that hard. I used to belive that too, but not really, if you know they are coming, then you shouldnt have a problem, worst case scenario you just shield it, rarely it will hit you. but really its not hard, i did it against my friend that used falco, and he was like wtf, and he got rreal pissed. lol it was funny, but yeah just practice a little its not too bad, im not like perfect, either just practice ull get there.

You can't powershield enough for it to matter, sure you can stop it for a few seconds but really its not gonna really matter. Links to slow to really exploit that lag.

I powershielded my friends Falco's SHB three times in a row. he was dumbfounded. =) it broke the flow of his appraoch so i was able to hit him with a spin attack when he was close. powershielding his lasers work if they're not expecting it, but if they're ready for it, it probably won't make much difference.

I agree. I hinted at that in my first post. I think powershielding is unreliable, but the platforms will always be there.

...Unless it's FoD, in which case they sink into the fountain periodically o_O

Anyway, platforms. That's the way to go.

Everybody said just powershield, which is good and all but you can still stop the spam by jumping over his laser and throwing your own things at him. Just keep him outta the air.

yes thx for the advice but i relly do need a full proof way to get past this shb crap its relly anoying me but shure i could just jump over it but then he could get close enough to juggle my but to timbucktoo but powershilding its like what aiser said i dont have no-human reflexis dammit and it relly won make a difference cause powershilding it once or twice aint relly ganna do much.

yea i ment shl my friend said short hop blaster so it got stuck in my head yea thats what ive been doing but i want to try to launch an ofensive atack as well. and dude t3heford, crouch relly think about that one and tell me why it wont work

countering SHL is a combination of randomness, good reflexes, and luck. Powershielding is a good way to let the Falco know you're not letting him SHL you to death, but not good enough to be fool-proof. Chucking items at him also can work, as long as you have a chance to jump high enough to avoid the SHL in the first place. You can also try dodging them. I've also found firing an arrow into the ground helps to shield one or two lasers, enough to buy you some time to form an offensive. Still, it's gonna be hard. Mind games are going to play big here, and the ability to keep Falco guessing is your only true counter to his SHL. There is no foolproof way, other than that.

I like how some people assume that when you powershield a single laser, the falco will just collapse.

"Oh no, out of every 100 lasers I shot at you ,you reflected one back at me that does half damage! Oh no! My strategy is falling apart!" -falco player's eyes go blank, ears bleed, chest implodes-

Not to say power shielding isnt bad but its definatly not the end all solution to facing falco.

if hes really that annoying with falco you should learn how to waveshield try always to have a bomb with you so you can throw the bomb while your waveshielding and shieldgrab him and start trying to tech chase him and grab ( tech chase will help you a lot cause most of the times they get desperate) try to get him to the edge with enough % to take him out and start edgeguarding.
NOTE: you have to learn a lot of mix-ups(grabs) against him because hes a lot more faster than you but you have more range than him even with that danm laser.

why don't you crouch?

1. You're immobile when you crouch, which was one of the bigger problems to begin with.

2. Crouching =/= Stopping SHL. Depending on timing, the SHL can hit above or below your shield.
