theres been so many great characters that uses swords, but i say ssbb should have a character with a spear (sry if already suggested) for instance, the amazon girl from the game seikenden setsu 3. i dont know her real name... but if u do plz notify

she would be a really good char because she uses a spear (obviously) and also a girl char to add on with samus, zelda and peach. seemingly there seems to be a big catch with characters with sharp weapons now so the amazon would be a great char to put in.

just suggesting so if n e one has something to add on about a spear character please post! thx

Nay, its a spear.

Lances are made for horse-based combat. Eph uses a spear on foot (despite its name).

Spears and Lances are under the same category, WindGuru. They both share the same design, and can have similar abilities.

Frankly, a Spear user sounds cool. A Lance user sounds boring, being a slow sword user. But that's my opinion.

I'm certainly no expert, but the majority of lances seem to be knight things. Spears are often infantry associated, that's all.

Meh, I don't care either way, just give me variety in weapons.

A lance user would have a very interesting moveset. I'd prefer to see a halberd though,
because that would be way cool.

Who's to say the weapons can't be interchangable? Actualy, that's a good idea...

The only ever time I've heard of a true lance-based fighter was in SC3 (I've heard about this , but since I don't have a PS2...).

I think that game shows the difference between lances and spears well actualy (rods being like spears, and lances as the heavy weapons). Ephraim and co are more like Kilik than anything else.

krystal's staff would have the same effect as a spear and it would already have a perfect b moveset, idk what an infantry spearuser would have for a b moveset

Go vote for a lance user and post your thoughts in the character archtype poll then. As for this idea, why not. Although it seems as though the only difference would be very long range with the tip doing the most damage.

it doesnt have to hav only the tip dealing most damage, like n e other games for instance, dynasty warriors, the spear users spears hit as strong as it wherever it landed. so a character with a spear would have reach for its advantage.

Krystal has a very strong chance of making it into Brawl. I realize that staff =/= spear, but it is kinda similar. Plus, the tip's spearhead-shaped.

Next likely would be Ephraim. I read that Sakurai's much more interested in Sigurd and Ike, though, so he's rather low on the totem pole here.

Not quite as low, unfortunately, as Lise/Riesz (the Rolante Amazon from Seiken Densetsu 3). She's third-party, Japan-only, hasn't appeared since, and relatively unknown outside the online/import community. I can't deny that her techs and summons would be amazing in Brawl (Dragon Tooth Spear + Marduke FTW!), but there are many other third-party (Sonic), Japan-only (Sigurd), old (Pit), and generally unknown (Muddy Mole) who are way, way ahead of her in the pecking order. Sadly, it ain't happening.

She has no chance in the Nine Hells due to the fact she's a fairly minor character in FE:PoR, but she's one of my favorite units in that game - I have no clue why but I love her... Still, sadly no chance at all... :(
