The Franchise

Yes, its one of those threads again. I know that most of you are pretty sick of these things by now, but I promised myself I would wait awhile before posting mine up. Also, I did put a bit of work into so I hope that you will find this at least mildly interesting. Well lets get to it:
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b386/franchise12345/Smash/Lyn.jpg
Lyn
Game Series: Fire Emblem
Logical reason to include: Lyn is from Fire Emblem 7, the very first Fire Emblem series released outside of Japan. You start off with her and the first 10 chapters or so serve as her personal story. She is a sword fighter however she is more unique then your typical one as she uses a personal small katana known as the Mani Katti and as well she uses a bow. Lyn has the odd distinction of having a wider fanbase outside of Japan then inside it. Still Sakurai has stated that he wants to include characters popular everywhere not just in Japan so she still could have a chance.
Not so logical reason: She’s hot. Enough said
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b386/franchise12345/Smash/214.png
Heracross
Game Series: Pokemon
Logical reason to include: Some people say we should put in Deoxys. Others argue for Lucario. And then there is the wide support for the unstoppable Paras. I say we look towards a different sort of Bug pokemon. Besides being something different then the electric, normal, and physic pokemon we’ve has so far, Heracross actually has the body of a fighter and is the only pokemon to be a combination Bug/Fighting type (including the recent 4th generation). When he made his debut in Pokemon Gold/Silver Heracross was one of the few strong Bug Pokemon and one of the first to actually live up to the fact that Bug pokemon are suppose to be strong against physic ones thanks to his personal move (well at the time anyway) Megahorn. Is there plenty of other Pokemon that could get in? Sure. But this is Smash Brothers we’re talking about so anything is possible
Not so logical reasons: If Heracross doesn’t get in, he will get depressed and then start to drink a lot of sap, which will make tress die and lead to deforestation, which will cause less carbon dioxide to be sucked up resulting in more pollution to the planet. Therefore, Heracross must be included to protect the environment.
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b386/franchise12345/Smash/mii.jpg
Mii
Game Series: Wii sports and others to follow
Logical reason to include: A game like Brawl is supposed to be for the videogame elite. As such, a create a character mode wouldn’t make much sense and would upset many fans. But if what if there was a way to have the best of both worlds? A Nintendo character with a set moveset but with your own personal touch. The answer comes in Mii, a little graphical simple humanoid figure character that you can customize to have your own personal face on it, storing the data inside your wiimote. Just imagine a character looking like yourself in Brawl. Mii is going to be having several game appearances soon such as Wii Sports and Wii Orchestra so there are sources to build a moveset on. Also, it would be a great way to represent the new Wii consol in the game. Having Mii as a character could be that little extra thing that makes Brawl even more unbelievable.
Not so logical reason: the ultimate dream match could finally occur. Mario vs. Michael Jackson!
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b386/franchise12345/Smash/Majora.jpg
Majora
Game Series: The Legend of Zelda
Logical reason to include: Zelda’s main bad guy has always been Ganon. But there have been others. Like that wind guy, Tingle, and of course a plucky mask of evil and doom known as Majora. Sure he may he may have only been in one game (featuring his name in the title) but he was powerful enough to bring the moon crashing down to destroy everything in a mere 3 days. It took Ganondorf 7 years to pull off almost the same thing in Ocarina. Note that I could have selected Skull Kid but I didn’t. Personally it was because I rather control the puppeteer than the actual puppet since Majora the one who pulled off all the stuff. Sure his fighting form may be ugly and a bit weird but that just makes him more unique.
Not so logical reason: Majora is very colour coordinated
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b386/franchise12345/Smash/option.jpg
Diddy/Diddy-Dixie Team
Game Series: Donkey Kong
Logical reason to include: The Donkey Kong series is way underrepresented in Brawl. The most obvious choice has to be DK’s best friend/sidekick Diddy. However the debate is whether or not Diddy should be included on his own or with Dixie as a team ala Donkey Kong Country 2. Personally I couldn’t care either way and to me either idea would be great. I know that the large number of Diddy supporters will say that Diddy is good enough and on his own and that putting him with Dixie would make him look weaker. I see it more as adding something more to an already great character making him more attractive to players and further representing the DK franchise.
Not so logical reason: The more monkeys the better since that means we are getting one step closer to that cool future shown to us in Planet of the Apes.
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b386/franchise12345/Smash/smart_ridley01.jpg
Ridley
Game Series: Metroid
Logical reason to include: Zsamus is a good additional to the roster but with Metroid becoming a bigger franchise to Nintendo in recent years they should get another character. And when you think of Metroid who else do you think but Ridley? A lot of people want him in and for good reason. Besides being Samus’s most common foe, he looks incredible and all of his game appearances give plenty of possible moves. Also what other options are there? A Metroid is too generic and has no body, Dark Samus would be too clone like to Samus (even if she did have different moves) and does anyone even remember the names of those other guys from Metroid Prime Hunters?
Not so logical reason: Ridley is actually in fact Santa Claus. How can you say no to Santa?
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b386/franchise12345/Smash/KingDedede.jpg
King Dedede
Game Series: Kirby
Logical reason to include: We already got Metaknight but why should we stop there? King Dedede is a great and popular villain from the Kirby series, not to mention a penguin. Who doesn’t love penguins? All you have to do is watch one boss battle from any game and you can see the potential. Besides, Sakurai is the creator of the Kirby series and honestly he should indulge himself a bit and include another one of his creations.
Not so logical reason: Penguins are secretly controlling the planet and therefore we should pay homage to them.
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b386/franchise12345/Smash/Krystal.jpg
Krystal
Game Series: Star Fox
Logical reason to include: People want more Star Fox characters to be put into Brawl and more then likely, we will be getting at least one. The two front runners for the position are Wolf and Krystal. Personally I think Krystal is the slightly better choice. She would add another female character to the roster. Also, Krystal has the opportunity to have a unique move set if they incorporate the staff that she had in Star Fox Adventures. We don’t have any staff users at the moment and Krystal would as good an option as any.
Not so logical reason: See Lyn’s not so logical reason
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b386/franchise12345/Smash/sukapon.jpg
Sukapon
Game Series: Joy Mecha Fight
Logical reason to include: The first time I saw an image of Sukapon, I asked myself: what in the world is that thing and why do people want it in Brawl? Sukapon is a pink limbless robot from Joy Mecha Fight, a fighting game that was released only in Japan for the Famicon. To understand why he would be good in Brawl, you have to see gameplay of him (thank you very much FlipTroopa for helping with that). Sukapon has a variety of cool moves that could be easily transferred into Brawl, including one where he throws his head at his opponents. Brawl could use a few more classic Nintendo characters and what would be better then a character from one of their very first fighting games?
Not so logical reason: Sukapon could dance the robot and actually make it look cool
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b386/franchise12345/Smash/Olimar.jpg
Captain Olimar
Game Series: Pikmin
Logical reason to include: Smash Brothers has brought some unique characters together already. Now then, what is more unique then a little guy in a space suit commanding a bunch of small plant creatures to do his bidding? The Pikmin games for Gamecube were met with great reviews and Olimar could make for an interesting character using the very types of Pikmin for his moves. Also, Shigeru Miyamoto created them and that can’t hurt your chances for being included.
No so logical reason: Olimar being included could attract more midget fans to Brawl.
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b386/franchise12345/Smash/SimonBelmont.gif
Simon Belmont
Game Series: Castlevania
Logical reason to include: So many third party characters, so little spaces. Honestly, I’m surprised that there hasn’t been more support for this guy. Castlevania is a great video game series that has games on all of Nintendo’s major systems. I debated between either Simon Belmont or Suma Cruz for a while but in the end I decided I had to go with the original. His main weapon would naturally be his whip but there are lot of secondary weapons that could also be incorporated including axes, daggers, holy potions, holy books, and crosses. Like Snake, Simon Belmont and Castlevania are owned by Konami so the door is already partially open for character negotiations.
Not so logical reason: Forget about the swords. We need more whip users for Brawl and Zsamus just isn’t going to cut it.
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b386/franchise12345/Smash/225px-Bomberman-art-work-style.jpg
Bomberman
Game Series: Bomberman
Logical reason to include: If you have never played multiplayer Bomberman, then you have not lived at all. It would be great to have a character whose focus is entirely on using explosives for his moves. But other then that, Bomberman has been with Nintendo from the beginning, having at least one game on each of their systems. His rights are owned by owned by Hudson Soft who also help developed the Turbografx-16 system. That system is now supporting the Wii’s virtual consol meaning that the two companies are more then likely in contact with one another. Finally, if nothing else, Bomberman in Brawl would enable him to renew his classic rivalry with Wario. (Bonus points to anyone who knows what I’m talking about)
Not so logical reason: I like explosives
Any thoughts, comments, and insults will be greatly appreciated.
