why do so many people want doc gone?

i've been lookin at the who is going to return topic and so many people r saying that doc is either going to be gone or they want him gone. i dont understand. its not like hes a bad mario clone or sumthing. hes got good maves and is just an all around good character. him and mario r pretty different. just look in the doc mario character specific thread that compares them. doc wins the comparison. so someone just tell me why u hate doc or the reason people want him gone.

Cause he sux, hes just mario with a doctor costume, and throws pill instead of fireballs, a clone to be exact, and clones dont deserve to b in brawl except for falco and ganondorf which they deserve new movesets...

Considering that all clones who return will be completely reworked, we have look at the character itself, and not it's Melee performance.

In that way, Dr.Mario is boring and really can't be worked into anything particularly original.

see thats what everyone thinks is that doc is just a pill throwing mario in a doctors outfit. how many times do i have to say it THEY ARE DIFFERENT. docs down smash is better. marios cape has better recovory. docs pills are stronger than fireballs. docs combo is a bit slower than marios. and theres more. so dont just say that they r the same as ur argument because they arent.

Uncle Kenny all i got out of that was blah blah blah they are the same. once again there are differences. i wouldnt mind if they combined the two into just mario like have docs down smash, strength in projectiles and other things. but i really just want to have a good reson besides they r the same and so far i've seen no1 who could produce an answer. u should need more than one reson to hate a character.

Actually, that was a link to the thread on the debate on wether or not Dr. Mario should return. One of the rules on this forum is to not make a thread if there is already one on the same subject. So really, all of your thoughts on this matter should be posted in there.

The reason people want him gone is because he is just a filler. It's not that people want HIM gone, per se, it's more that people want an open space for someone who isn't next to identical.

Well not only that...but the creator of Smash said the only reason Dr. Mario was there was due to his theme song.

There's not a big difference between the two. Doc is more slower than Mario and when he does the tornado, it just sends the opponents flyin sideways. His sheet does have longer reach than Mario's cape (and it's also stronger) and his uppercut seems to do more damage (not only that but it lacks the coin noise that's usually heard when regular Mario does it). And finally, he's just heavier and alot slower than Mario. So I personally think Doc was a waste of space and nothin more but a Mario clone. Plus, he just wasn't as fun to play with as regular Mario.

Doc needs to go because he's a clone, but he's too close to Mario to deserve his own moveset. Ganondorf and Falco could easily get their own movesets, but Doc would just be stupid.
