View Full Version : bair to rest

I know some moves can be cancelled into other moves, like Jiggly's dsmash, Peach's dair, etc. Is the bair typically able to be cancelled by other A-moves? I ask this because I can't seem to get the timing down on bair to rest, and I've been playing with it on and off for years. Is it different than what you have to do for bair-bair?

I don't know if this makes any sense.

N-air to rest is more effective and easier to hit with imo. Never really tried B-air to rest.

You may want to take a look at King's thread: "You got Frooed." He explains and demonstrates the Nair to Rest combo. And it works quite well. I have never before tried the Bair to Rest, because a Bair is best followed by a Bair, especially while in the air.

doesnt b-air have too much knockback to go into a rest from?

Ok people are misunderstanding me. This is not a landing combo, this is a mid-air combo. Works on some characters at some percentages with certain DI. I'm asking if the bair is frame cancellable with other moves, but not rest, because the timing seems different.

I'm searching for a way to explain what frame cancellable means.

It works on certain characters like Samus at lower percents. Just continue drifting backwards, and use Rest after the bair lag ends without jumping.

I don't usually use it, though, since it's generally safer to drift forward and away after landing a bair.

My question though is simply, does anyone know if the bair is frame cancellable, period.

Sigh at me not communicating.

For instance...Marth's DTilt can be interrupted quickly with another tilt, dash, jump, smash or whatever. BUT, it cannot be interrupted with a Shield. Is this an example of what you are referring to KishPrime? You are thinking that bair can be interrupted with jump, aerial, etc. quicker than it can be interrupted with a rest?

You must jump out of the b-air before you can start the rest, as you can't IASA the b-air with a B move. To make sure I don't go too high from the jump if I'm already ontop of them I hit the Y button to jump with the end of my thumb and the B button with the joint of my thumb IMMEDIATELY after hitting Y while holding down.

Actually you CAN interrupt Marth's d-tilt with shield if you hold left or right along with L/R.

This is true about Marth, but I think that it's probably one frame of walking that actually interrupts the d-tilt - immediately followed by the shield. Regardless, I think you've answered the original question.:)

What you're speaking about is called IASA frames, or "interruptable as soon as." I thought I had superdoodleman's charts bookmarked but I don't; just look them up.
