No love for Pikachu?

Why does it seem likethey're really down-playing Pikachu in this game? In the first trailer, he was the only returning character that they didn't show a Super Smash for, and he barely appeared in it even then. This time around, when everybody else got their own section to show off their moves and combos, all Pikachu did was jump a few times and then sneak across that Mario Kart track. Why do you think that is? Are they trying to hide something special that they don't want us to know yet, or are they just tired of him?

Either Sakurai doesn't like Pokemon (shame on him if so) or either there are SO many different types of attack in the Pokemon series that they need to find Pikachu an excellent Super Smash that fits him. Maybe he is looking for a 4th Generation Electric attack or possibly a massive Zap Cannon? Maybe he simply hasn't gave Pikachu one yet but he deserves more credit. He's freakin' on the second best selling Nintendo franchise for ****'s sake.

I was just surprised that they've done so little with him.

If Pikachu got an ability to call a lightningstorm to strike all foes as a Super Smash he'd be ownage. It's said an average bolt of lightning emits 1.5 gigajoules at close range. Consider yourself ****ed.

I don't think you can really apply real-world phyics to Smash. I mean, if you did, Pikachu's downB move would always be a one hit KO, since lightning hurts so much. :P But a huge multi-strike lightning thing would be cool.

I have to say Pikachu looks awesome sneaking around with his ears folded back. They really made him more animalistic in this game. I like it.

This trailer was more geared for the newcomers anyways. Sure Pikachu didn't have a special in the first trailer, but that doesn't mean much. He will have one.
