Ok so u wanna be as good as me... I can understand this, as most people here know im the best link on these boards.
Well first u gotta pick red link because hes faster than the other links
Moves u should never use: Ftilt, dtilt, arrow,
1) Always think AHEAD when using Link's projectiles.
2) Focus on playing defensive until an opening presents itself. Link completely sucks at playing offensively as his approach game is terrible.
3) Link has a good CC, use it
4) Never attempt to shieldgrab aerials
5) Learn ur spacing
6) Stop being so fancy
7) Spam projectiles against dumb characters
8) Link's jab can give u breathing room against stubby chars with small arms
9) Stop using Link's up-b for *desperate* kills
10) Don't play Link against Falcon, Fox, Shiek, Falco
K there u have it, some general tips that every noob should know lmao
PIXEL'S EXTRODINARY GEM OF WISDOM: If ur maining Link, stop. Learn a top tier, get good with them, then go back to Link. Ur skill will carry over and u'll be a much better player.

Pixel is my hero. People should know these things, and Pixel wrote it so you know it's good.
Pixel's gem #6 is the best one ever.
I used Pixel 4 times in this post, and it was only 4 sentences.

Except there are some uses for the tilts in edge-guarding.

Yeah, ftilt has the potential to hit below the stage. D-tilt shouldn't be used though, it's a meteor smash (and not even a good one). I'm a fan of the ftilt if there wasn't enough time to nair though.

don't edge-guard using d-tilt with the meteor smash in mind. instead, d-tilt with the intent to pop your enemy up and punish accordingly. this works well against fox's firebird when he's trying to recover from below and misses the sweet-spot.

D-tilt is just so slow, I can't stand it. It has too much startup and too much lag, the nair is a much better edgeguard if you have the time. The f-tilt is better if you don't have time because it has more knockback and is safer to use the the d-tilt.

Pixel doesn't need a video to prove how good he is. Just take this quote for example...

Clearly this man is a mastermind of the highest order. His Link is actually pretty great (not that I've played it, but I should on saturday).
Speaking of which, Pixel, I must Link ditto you. Then we can put it on smashboards and people can laugh at how bad we suck.

How is Red Link faster than any other Link? I find all of them to be the same. And how do we know you are great at this game anyway? Post a video like DLK said. =P Ive never used those tips and I dont think I ever will.

Yep red link is 2x as fast
Ur obviously Th3 uber noob
Don't u know colors reflect ur characters traits?
Ex: Black Link has extra armor so he can take a little more damage
Blue Link does more damage with his sword attacks
Green Link has a better shield
White Link has a better crouch cancel
Everyone knows these things Knome

Actually, I almost have a down. I breakdance in case no 1 knew that. It's just doing a windmill (swinging your legs in a circle while carrying your body with your should blades) + freeze (standing upside down with your head for support and your arms to keep your balance).

Ok, first of all, the different colored Links do not have different traits. You just think they do out of personal preference. Second, you should use the forward and down tilts, but ONLY if you know when to use them. The forward tilt has good knockback and the down tilt pops-up your enemy leaving them open for a short time. Like I said, be wise with your attacks.

edit: The SPin attack is links best move, just use it in moderation. up-b out of shield rapes fast fallers, at mid to high percents.

......ON TOPIC: good advice, but ftilt is really useful for edgeguarding, and dtilt can be used to combo in certain ways - using the meteor sweetspot to hit them up lower is useful if you're punishing a really laggy move.

Link's other unknown talent is that if you hold the arrows long enough, while starting on the ground it becomes a light arrow and kills everything.
Just try it.
It only works in tourney matches tho, so statioary arrow in tourney matches guys.
