Critique/Rate my Fox-Video

Hey guys is DaShizWiz, I've lately wanted to start using Fox much more, and I wanted some of you foxes out there to help me out. Just give me some advice or tips or whatever that will get my Fox better.

You good him good that first life around but you lost your spunk after that so it seems for awhile. Your fox is very fluid and smooth in his fighting.

Your edgeguarding can use abit of work, you left the ledge to early and let him get back on easily, with your skills, you could have shined him down easily by shining from the ledge. And other times you just watched as he came back, get out there and interrupt him.

Don't use firefox to edgeguard him lol, don't know if you intentionally did that or not.

All in all your fox is very good but needs abit of work on edgeguarding, thats all the advice I can give you.

You're a very fast fox player, I haven't seen many videos that match that speed.

Things I'd change is edge guard better, a lot of the time you either waited for him to grab the edge and get back on the platform, or you didn't do a edge hog roll when you needed to so he got back, and every time he got you off the edge he got a kill. so, I'd use that more.

Remember to shine cancel all your aireals, it helps keep you moving more so you'll move around even faster, and it also keeps you safe from attack if you're fast enough, because of the one frame shine start up, it starts up faster then a grab if he dodged or shielded you.

Lasers could be used more as well. Maybe why you didn't use them much is because it's a very small stage, and it's quite easy when trying to move with them to push the finger just a little too far and >B to death. If you don't use them though on stages like final D I'd suggest using them, nothing wrong with free damage :)

Each sentence is a small whatever:

More drillshines to grabs to uairs/baited usmash. DI better (wtf at letting doc dair you???!!!) Use more tricks when getting back from the ledge you were being read way too easy and remember that sometimes simplest works best. Do some nairs to running usmash at mid percents, easy kills. Bairs are your bestest friend. If you plan on going shine crazy make sure you do it with a lot of shines, not like 2 or 3 like you were doing. Wear out shields with jabs and ftilts and space with dtilt when in close range. Lasers are your friend for some quick percents, noticed you doin it a little bit, do it MORE!!!

Reminds me of my fox cept slower and without as much fancy stuff. That's all I wanna say for now.

Thanks for the tips guys, I was trying not to move at 100 percent speed, because its a small level, I could show you guys that if you wanted though but I want to get better, thanks for all the critiques guys, more!!

can tell that thats not your main by the way it seemed as if you were just enjoying his speed and the way he works. you'd be a nice fox player if you mained him i actually think imgoing to go falco or marth i am sick of fox he's too common

Those matches didn't come out too well, he's not that good vs Falco. So I go Fox on him, the matches look better, and its more closer.

Did you get our mains confused? Cause Fox is my Secondary and Fox is his secondary, Sheik is his Main and Falco is mine.

You had some good shine timing going on there, better than I do. I'm very good with fox but I never really started paying attention to his diversity until I found this forum. Mostly I just play with friends and we don't know all this fancy junk. I'm trying to get better with my shine reflector thing as well. Lol, kind of rambled there but anyways nice moves but you did make a few errors and you seemed to let the match go on far too long, lots of missed opportunities but great job shining.

Your fox will become 1000% better if you stop trying to shine spike so much and back air edge gaurd more. Edge hop down air from the edge is really just asking for someone to wavedash back and kill you. I think you know, but up throw up air doesn't work on doc. Your tech skill is ridiculously impressive (though I already knew that from watching your falco) If you edge guarded him instead of just sitting there or lasering your fox would be alot better lol. I'm gonna watch the second vid now...You play fox a lot like falco lol. every time you try to shine spike him and he gets back on a part of my soul dies =[.

I like how after you killed him in the first match and he returns and you start wavedashing on the platforms he just sits there and waits for you to land on his head. If someone is just sitting on the edge waiting for you to do something you can throw a downward angled forward tilt, it's quick enough to either hit them, or allow you to react if it doesn't. LOL at the DI on the forward throw, thought he was gona up throw ya didn't you? mind games'd!

You are immediately a good fox player cause you have great technical skill, you just need to watch some more vids of good fox players/play lots of fox dittos with good fox players (which might be kinda hard for you since they are all northern EC) If you want to pick him up as a main/secondary/whatever just keep hopping and kicking, you'll get it, really quickly too.

wow lots of tech skill there...

other than more ledgehop/edgehog edgeguarding <you dont have falcos dsmash nor his imba dair for easy guards like that, instead you have the shine> - if not then jump out.

hanging around on the stage is rarely a good idea for fox when edgeguarding.

l-cancelled shines onto the ground more <this is more important than shine spamming with wavedash - each time you get a shine on him you could have instead jabbed or grabbed or similar into a combo>

lastly to get good with fox youll need to play a wider array of characters. need to vs a good marth, other fox/falco, peach, shiek, CF <should be easy for you with your shinespamming :P>
there are some key things which those characters will rape you with if you play for first time- aswell as things you need to learn to rape those characters, which might not apply to doc. - you might find shiek will techase you to death, and ***** the edge alot more, youll ALWAYS lose your first match vs peach when you work really hard for a 40% infinite, and then she does 80% to you in one move. youll ofc, have to play vs falco :P but you probs know that already - but learning to do certain combos like the uthrow combos - and marth gotta be careful of chaingrab to utilt to death <similar weaknesses as falco, but deals with him differently>

that is an absurd thing to say really, and why the hell would you try to infinite a peach? one screw up and you get downsmashed. All you need to do vs peach is drill shine to upsmash or grab to up throw up air, just kick her when she is recovering, don't try and shield grab her aerials, don't miss l cancels, up smash out of shield when she hits it with a laggy move/isn't spaced etc etc etc. Peach is just garbage vs a good techy fox, unless they are ridiculously smart like vidjo
