well im just gonna add this to see for sure. i live in lloydminster, yah its close to edmonton, but i cant drive that far whenever i wanna play smash(I'd end up living there), so i was wondering if anyone here lives in lloyd, i was thinking of getting a tourney set up, but i only got the people i know, so i was looking for some more. dam small towns. Also if, by chance, someone already has a tourney in lloyd(i would probably kill myself for not knowing about it), please tell me

Incoming news: The second Lethbridge tournament is going to be on the first Friday of March, the 2nd. there will be doubles, and singles. It's at the University of Lethbridge's campus pub, The Zoo. Official thread coming soon.

Well I'd have to consult with the other potential tournament directors kicking around Central Canada and make sure that it would even be worth proposing. I mean, the Alberta Smash scene is flourishing to a certain degree, but I'm not sure if it's quite flourishing enough to warrant a tournament each month from March to May. The worst thing would be to hold too many tournaments which would result in people only attending whichever of the three is the most convenient for them, when realistically, we'd like as many people as possible at every tournament, right? :)

EDIT: And I suppose if Lethbridge counts, that's actually TWO tournaments in March too.

No, I haven't heard that name. I'm taking it he posts here? We live in a very rural area in southeast Sask, so we haven't played any tournaments other than friendly ones we've held. I know a couple players from Saskatoon that I usually beat, but they're just getting started on advanced techniques like teching and WDing. And there's only one guy I know from Regina that does it. I'm sure there are a few others...but I'm pretty confident me and my group of friends would stand a fair chance against the Sask. crowd.
