It's a small local tournament thing, 2v2 style. I'm Fox, my friend is Falco. I know most of the people that will be playing there, except one group, a Sheik player and a Dr. Mario player. Now, I haven't yet seen either of them play, but they "claim" that they are very good. I'm just wondering how we should approach this if we do match up against them, and they are as good as they claim. I'm fairly good with Fox, I've got all the techniques down and what-not, but I don't have any videos of me playing. Any advice besides "Practice"? It's in a week.

Think of the obvious in teams. Falco combos crud out of Sheik, Fox shinespikes Dr. You two both need to be careful of that cape, since it works on both of you. I actually have no real team experience, but I like sneaking in the upsmash when I can. It's really easy to in melees or teams. You can waveshine combo them too, so it's not too bad. Sheik and Dr is agood team though. CJ and Takuto! Since you have Fox and Falco, you should always be on the offense and keep the pressure going.

Oh, and try to see their playstyle somehow... >.>
Nothing's better than knowing how your opponents play.

Yeah, we were supposed to have a pre-tourney duel this weekend, but they like, wussed out or something, and never followed through. But yeah, sheik and dr mario are a good team, and they're the only ones that I'm worried about. The next best team I know of consists of Ganon and Kirby :D

Psh, keep your heads up. Don't get arrogant or careless though.

Get them off the stage and spike them, that is all you need. Determine which character is the easier one to kill and pick on them.

One more thing, when (if the occasion arises), should I allow Falco to take one of my lives. Should I do it any time possible when he runs out, or only when I'm at a low percentage with two+ lives, or what?

if you have 2 stocks with a low precent and the other team has 2stocks each, let him take it, but if you have 2 stocks and they both have 1, maybe you can take'em on your own? its up to you really, whatever you think is best,

A good strat to have is one person does all the dirty work while other plays more carefully and is a life holder.
If you come back with over-b if you hug the wall and he capes at the wrong time you can tech the cape.

Well, depends on who's better in situations like pressure putting 2 vs 1's. I say you're the guy for the dirty work. Just shinespike, while having Falco get your back.

I suggest you avoid Battlefield too, bad space animal stage.

do as I do

shinespike doc after his capes or pills when he's recovering, go straight up so he can't cape your recovery, bair to shine, nair to shine, bair to roll, upair to sidestep to shine, etc. Give doc nothing to punish and he can't win.

lol that's what I always say

And it's good to try and have one stay on the stage nd knock the enemy off of the stage, and the other team member spike them to their doom. I'd say Fox stays on stage and Falco goes for the finishers, but that's just me.

It comes down to how well you guys work together. Don't hit your teammate and make good use of your teammate's set-ups. Like the Falco could follow up Fox's upthrow. Also, do some weird stuff like randomly charging the Doc while you were fighting Sheik. That always works XD

In fox and Falco teams, I like to let the Falco be the work horse. If your friend is good at comboing try letting him move around more freely instead of helping, unless of course he needs help recovering. Only applying pressure to the sheik/doc using lasers.

What imo is good to do in teams is focus on killing one person off first, and try to play towards frustrating them. Make them blow through they're partners stock, and when the focus has been changed to saving that player thats being targeted shift the team focus to 2v1'ing the other. Overall just really keep them guessing.

Watch for projectile spam most of all, sheik and doc have two great projectiles good for spamming. {sarcasm/} <3 needles {sarcasm}

Your team has no variety, you're both fast fallers and your recoveries can be easily gimped by shiek and Doc. It's hard to save stock lives when you can get raped if you don't edge tech or have bad DI. I recomend one of you to use a character that is also broken but it's not a fast faller like Peach or Marth.

Marth master-The needles can stop any projectile including the lasers and can out prioritize the space animals' recoveries limitting their recovery options and making it easier for shiek to edge guard.
