VS Battle Mode
You can race on all unlocked tracks from Grand Prix mode, but the max limmit of machines in a race is 4(I.E. 2 humans + 2cpus). If the skill barrier is too big then use handicap to even it out. Or how about using your own customized vehicle, just remember your memory card.
There are different split screens to choose from.
