Mute City - A metropolis in the heart of the Space Federation
World info: This "Mute City," short for "mutant city," has great influence as an information nexus for the entire universe. Over a billion people live in Mute City and all kinds of sentient life co-exist there. It's regarded as the most advanced and sophisticated city in the universe. But its skies are black, plagued by heavy pollution that triggers massive thunderstorms. However, the clever minds within the city have devised methods to harness the power of these consuming clouds and have built many power stations to capture their energy. So much energy, in fact, that it can be sent to other power hungry planets. A brand new Mute City course was just recently constructed when the old course became too worn and dangerous. |
Cup: Ruby
Difficulty: *
Length: 7910m
Staff Ghost: 0'59"964 (Death Anchor)
Strategy: Its such a simple course, and so there is little room for improvement. A fast car with decent handling is suitable for this course, such as the Death Anchor or Red Gazelle. Just boost all the way around pretty much, hit all the dash plates and grab as much health as possible.
Interesting note: On the building in front of start, there's a monitor that changes from showing Captain Falcon to Samurai Goroh and Dr. Stewart. |
Cup: Sapphire
Difficulty: ****
Length: 9580m
Staff Ghost: 1'26"549 (Night Thunder)
Strategy: Machines with high acceleration setting fly better and further, so choose acceleration for a car like White Cat. Mines are present and grant a boost in speed if desired. Use all the common jump techniques like pulling back when you land in this level.
The Jumps themselves: If you want a good, easy shortcut, boost twice on the straight that leads to the 3 jump bars and then do a hard right, you can quite easily go over the large building and land at the end of the Ice. On the next jump aim for the upper platform to save time, its much quicker. Boost like hell on the last ramp and you can fly and land just before the tunnel. Cool huh? The madness doesn't end there. Numerous videos exist of a better shortcut still. Gaining enough speed in the tunnel at the start can launch you so far, that if you go dead forward and not turn right out of the tunnel you will land on the jump bars, gain more speed and land on the area with a top and bottom platform. Very tricky to do.
Interesting note: Go with Air Line: Air Travel II if you want an nostalgic travel! |
Cup: AX
Difficulty: *
Length: 6700m
Staff Ghost: 0'46"893 (Fat Shark)
Strategy: Well, if it doesn't already need saying, a non-snaker would aim for maxspeed with a very fast machine. Some of the turns, simple as they may be, may prove nasty for Black Bull, Fat Shark and Wild Boar. Try something else, like Sonic Phantom, Death Anchor or Big Fang-they all have high topspeeds aswell. I'm sure it doesn't take much to figure it out but hit all the dash plates and boost your wits out to the finish line. A time of under 50 seconds is nothing special on this course.
Interesting note: Same course from Chapter 1 in Stroy Mode |
