in response to your post, i use the down on the d-pad for grab because A+B is inconsistent and it's located a 1/2 inch from the A button. even so, i still don't think that assigning smashes to the d-pad would be easier to reach and seems like it'd take more effort. but still, a valid idea. i wonder if i can assign the c-stick to the knunchuck, only i'd have to hold the C button+the direction. thanks for the input, and on a sidenote.....i used to play with c falcon all the time in the 64 version. but since they've reworked his moves in melee, i feel his character has suffered. do you play with him a lot?
