    I'm guessing that it is part of Zelda's hair, and an optical illusion likely resulting from Zelda being launched up off the screen and falling back down. Indeed, it makes for a funny picture.

    Hello, just wanted to say that I think this thread is killer, and that I have enjoyed the screen caps and captions, especially the stories. Perhaps I'll try my hand at it some time.

    Are there ANY uses for a footstool jump?

    I have found it useful in cases where I have an item in hand. For instance, if I'm Link and I happen to fs someone while I have a bomb in my hand I throw it down then dair.
