It's something Ryu can do out of his focus attack (down b) animation. After (or before) releasing the focus attack, you can dash either forward or backwards, so you can set up the combo more easily because you cancel the focus attack animation earlier than normal.

I believe the reason that this is exclusive for those characters is because with either the bomb or the turnip, there is a command in order to pull those, but if you have one already in had you toss it. So I guess that even if you were to catch Peach's turnip, you woulnd't be able to do it as...

Unless you have a bomb in your hand, that way you can airdoge, zair, down b when you land to throw the bomb and cancel the lag that you would have otherwise

What are your thoughts on R.O.B.'s forward tilt? From what I've seen the range seems nerfed, but I don't know if it's just an illusion because of the change in the animation.

Edgeguarding with the back hit of the down smash seems to be pretty good. I also like running away and turn around to hit with the tip of the forward smash's first hit.
