A Dissertation on Snake's Dash Attack and Mortar Slide

I think I finally got the most comfortable by using, Dash to c-stick to Up+A. Flicking the cstick down then up wasn't working on mine (my cstick is a bit dull I think), and A to Up+A is too insanely fast. c-stick to Up+A just feels smooth and nice for it.

The removal of the combo system

I'm really all for Melee > Brawl as far as metagame and competitiveness. There's no argument. But I saw this and I just wanted to adress it. You'd mess up by becoming predictable. That is assuming you are talking about Melee. In Brawl thats of course not really going to matter as much if...

C4 fake plant (with directions on how to do it AND NOW A VIDEO)

I want to make a final point about this since it seemed to get dragged back out for no reason. Its bassically useless without the ability to: 1. Fake plant on your opponent. Though I've actually seen this happen (a time that wasn't in the video), it is hardly practical and was most likely...

HWy are you asking an irrelevant question in a topic where no one did this is any post?

New Snake Technique: Wall of Flame

Actually it doesn't work that well on FD because of that reason. It will really only affect an opponent that is recovering from below, and the claymore would be blown up needlessly.

~~ Into the Fray: A Snake Survival Guide ~~

I know grenade tricks are done to hell and back, but I have one that I just recently made. First, take out a grenade shield drop and pick it back up. The run towards your opponent. Do a double jump while DIing away from your opponent yet still facing them. Press b to drop the first grenade...

    snake video constructive criticism wanted

I didn't a lot of grenade dropping it seemed. You used Fair at a couple of awkward times. Some of your dash attacks probably should have been Usmash cancelled. Not enough use of tilts, and I'm not sure what your edguarding strategy was. To be frank, your friend wasn't that good and you...

Official 'Item Standard Play' Thread (65k views. Not bad for a side project, huh? :P + Poll in OP)

To heroboy: Its not really to say that you should let go, but 2-3 pages about the legality of gooey bomb seemed kind of ludicrous since everytime Jack said he was keeping it. The argument reached its limits of discussion before the second page of it. Yet the debate continued, you could almost...

Official 'Item Standard Play' Thread (65k views. Not bad for a side project, huh? :P + Poll in OP)

It is a community project, and I never said that I thought Jack would disregard all of the input. Perhaps I wasn't clear enough on this. I don't like to argue and I'm really not going to argue against you because what you say is obviously true, but out of context with what I'm saying. I agree...

Official 'Item Standard Play' Thread (65k views. Not bad for a side project, huh? :P + Poll in OP)

My suggestion merely reflects the thoughts of Jack and his group to keep any item in that would cause an unfair or wrong win. Anyway, you're ignoring the bulk of my post which in no way is centered around the use of a judge or ref. In fact not only have both of you taken the whole post out of...

Official 'Item Standard Play' Thread (65k views. Not bad for a side project, huh? :P + Poll in OP)

Its no problem, and I added one more thing in there right before the recap that I feel adds more clarity to what I was saying. I really hope your tournaments work out well. You seem to have the right idea by carefully examining every item's risks/rewards. Though we all may disagree, where...

    Really confused by snake's past...

He doesn't have an eyepatch in 4 its actually an Otacon invention called the Solid Eye. It replaces his binoculars, thermo goggles, and night vision.

    Weekly Character Discussion: Snake

Pikachu can really hurt Snake when he's rcovering. Thunder can cover the key "drop-zone" for a SNake recovering above the stage. A decent Snake can air dogde the Thunder but then becomes vulnerable to any ariel attack Pikachu may make on Snake. The only other option Snake has would be to grab...

Official 'Item Standard Play' Thread (65k views. Not bad for a side project, huh? :P + Poll in OP)

DISCLAIMER: The following post is not directed at any specific person and is a general thought on competitive smashers and item smashers discussing item legality. I am in no way taking sides, but my general style of play does not include items being on. Any personal attacks will not be responded...

    Really confused by snake's past...

so how come heres there in MGS3? and portable ops? And shouldnt the one in MGS4 be Naked snake because he has the eye patch? or did solid get one too? MGS3 and Portable Ops take place in the late 60s and early 70s. Later in 1999 Solid Snake faces Big Boss one final time and kills him. This...
