Sakurai does not want Smash to be a competitive franchise

Who says thats a bad thing, going outside what the creator plans is very common and usually a good thing. What ever happened to thinking outside the box.

    Getting replays off sd card

Pictures have a decoder somewhere around here to use on the bin files. Replays don't have anything like this because it doesn't record videos but rather what happened in the match in series of button presses it seems.

Sakurai does not want Smash to be a competitive franchise

The unfortunate truth, nintendo only wants money and doesn't care how long you play a game. They make a game well enough for a casual player to play and like so they can sell more and get them to buy the sequel. I don't think Sakurai should have tried to destroy competitive like he has...

Sakurai does not want Smash to be a competitive franchise

False Dilemma, there was more than just 2 choices. He could have done a bit of both, and the millions of 6 year olds could be happy throwing bombs at each other, and competitive players could have no items matches. PEOPLE REMEMBER MELEE APPEALED TO BOTH WHY COULDN'T BRAWL, THERE IS MORE THAN...

Sakurai does not want Smash to be a competitive franchise

I have to disagree here. Yes competitive players do keep a game living, but companies are not interested in that. To most companies what matters is how many people buy it. Casuals are a larger group of people, so they will be catered to, not the competitive player. While I don't think...

Sakurai does not want Smash to be a competitive franchise

What I see as the problem with Sakurai's mindset though, and how the game is catered is this, yes he catered to casual players. But he seems to be not necessarily out just to cater to casuals but at the same time try to stop competitive play. Why add and take away features that appeal to a group...

Sakurai does not want Smash to be a competitive franchise

Question, the game is catered to casual players, so how many casual players asked for a tripping mechanic to be added and l-canceling to be removed, after it was apparently already in the game? Same for anything else that was discovered at e4all that was taken out later. And how many casual...

Sakurai does not want Smash to be a competitive franchise

From my lurking it seems the problem is not, "why did Sakurai make a casual game?", it's "why did Sakurai make a casual game and at the same time try to get rid of a competitive game?" Sakurai could have left the game as a party game where causal players can have their smash parties full of...

    Kirby's Wario Hat Question

I kinda expected helmet. Its not like Kirby gets different hats based on color, so the helmet should have been expected.

    Stages in Gamestop tournament

From my understanding people aren't going to go in there and complain, they will just walk in and show how to break the game with items on random stages.
