I guess on a more professional scale Melee has the edge due to the high skills needed and the faster speed it's at, but in brawl's case it's more about patience. I'd say neither is better: it's all based on opinion.

Buttons because they let you quickly perform aerials without having to readjust the control stick too much beforehand. Turning tap jump to 'off' also helps with not accidentally jumping and gimping yourself. Plus they let you use up tilt much easier.

I would be interested in doing some friendlies at this. I need practice too (only my second tournament), and what better way to do it than in a friendly, where I won't be eliminated if I lose.
