Really? I remember having to practice this difference in timing when learning to L-cancel a long time ago (but when I tried it just now to double-check, I really couldn't tell if I was falling faster or slower after hitting someone's shield). Does anybody have frame data on this?

In Project M, Mario, Bowser, Zelda, Sheik, Toon Link, Ganondorf, Marth, and Game & Watch I would say are the easiest to use because their moves around 30% tend to hit the opponent in the forward direction the right distance away and with the right amount of stun to string into a combo.

L-cancelling is in my opinion something that makes Melee and Project M great. Without it, there would be nothing to punish if a person messes up the L-cancel, and it is rewarding to the player that can successfully pull it off. It adds another element to the gameplay that made Melee complex and...
