    Project M Social Thread

So I was messing around with Samus in Melee today and thought of a potentially unpopular suggestion for her in Project M. I actually think it would be a great idea to give her double jump cancelling. Now I realize that this would be a pretty big deviation from Melee, but hear me out. From what...

    Doc dropping (technique with video)

Pretty much, and practically speaking, I prefer lean dropping. The reason some people might prefer this one is that, with lean dropping, the timing has to be a little more precise, and if you mess it up (e.g. by entering the sliding animation or stopping the run too late) you could potentially...

    Doc dropping (technique with video)

Basically this is a fancy way of edgehogging or edgeguarding that uses taunt cancelling - see the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8_Gt4hUTuw You could do the slightly faster lean drop, but this one is a little safer, plus it gives you a good excuse to taunt cancel.

    Lean dropping (technique with video)

I just made a new variation of the lean drop that uses taunt cancelling rather than leaning for Dr. Mario called the "doc drop" - video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8_Gt4hUTuw The lean drop is a little faster than this, but the doc drop is safer (you won't SD if you mess this one up)...

    Lean dropping (technique with video)

Yep, this is most useful for characters who don't have a faster edgehog they can consistently perform (e.g. Mario, Samus, Captain Falcon) and turnaround aerials. If you can do something faster with your character consistently, use that instead for edgehogging. Not many characters have any other...

    Lean dropping (technique with video)

This is actually a little slower than lean dropping, at least for characters whose dash is faster than their wavedash. Here are a few edgehogs that are faster though: All: dash -> wavedash forward -> pc drop (hard) Characters whose wavedash speed exceeds their dash speed: wavedash backward all...

    Lean dropping (technique with video)

Just uploaded a video demonstrating the quick bair technique I mentioned with Shiek: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHWKD7l1ZlQ

    Lean dropping (technique with video)

I guess it does look like I was implying that, but I was only trying to demonstrate that it was possible to do with any character. I'm sure Captain Falcon also has slightly faster ways to grab the ledge that are technically possible. This definitely isn't the fastest with every single character...

Ah, didn't realize that. It's been a while since I've played Brawl.

    Project M Social Thread

For me, the main appeal of using G&W in melee is how hilarious he is and how much he can annoy other players - he's the ultimate troll character. Chain grabbing from every throw; attempting to combo into a "9" hammer for the lulz; the awesome pan spike; freezing, burning, or electrocuting you at...

    Lean dropping (technique with video)

Another thing you can do with this is use an aerial immediately after wavedashing off the stage (and before grabbing the ledge). Really useful for some characters like Shiek - you can pull off really quick bairs right from the ledge this way. Also useful for Samus, Link, and Young Link where you...

    Lean dropping (technique with video)

I made a little tutorial video for a technique I like to use: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZNQMhCPKmE I'm sure this isn't new, but I haven't seen this used, and I haven't seen any guides posted on how to do this. It's useful both for quickly reaching the ledge for characters that don't...

    Rollout edgehog

If you aren't already facing the ledge, one of the quickest ways to grab the ledge with Jiggs is to short hop off and do a reverse rollout. Now I know this can't be new, but I've never seen anybody do this, even though it's pretty easy to pull off. I made a quick video showing this here...

    Project M Social Thread

Is pivot jumping going to stay in Project M? On one hand, it adds the option of approaching with a bair, but I think it takes away quite a bit of the ledge-guarding depth that Melee has. Since Melee has no pivot-jump to edgehogging, characters need to be creative if they want to reach the edge...

Integrating AR Codes into the Disc Image

Holy cow, thanks Magus! I've been looking for the 1-P C-stick code for a loong time.
