    Well, whenever I am unsure of which character to pick, I take Mario because he is so safe to play. His average qualities allow me to stay in the middle so to speak, which in turn, allows him to adjust on the fly if the situation needs it. For example, if I am facing a longer ranged opponent or...

    If I had to label Mario's weaknesses, I would just say that he is so average and in the middle that he does not excel in any area, as in there will always be a character that will hit harder or will move faster, and so forth. Nevertheless, I do not think this is that much of a bad thing.

    What about other forms of approaches besides just spamming Fireballs? I have tried using the Super Sheet aggressively in attempt to screw up my opponents' responses to my approaches, yet I am curious what other players think about this.

    I don't know. I personally believe Mario does not have a "true" counter because Mario is such a "safe" character to play. Think about it. He is an average character- the median for all of the other characters to compare with. In other words, he should fair decently against most of the roster...
