Let me reiterate what TimeMuffin mentioned about practicing low lasers. PRACTICE LOW LASERS. Seriously, they make your neutral game better across the board. I would even go so far as to rate them on par, if not slightly better than falco's lasers when all things are considered. In the absence...

Yeah, I agree with you, and I think most of the low percent footstool combos we discussed work consistently, but the question is what you can get off of these footstool combos that you couldn't using a traditional followup, and I think that besides a few niche situations I think the extra...

I think that a mixup can be and often is the optimal punish, even if there is a significant chance it will miss, because the risk/reward is still good enough to justify choosing it over the other options. But yeah, I do think that a lot of these footstool setups can be applied best as a mixup...

Both shine and soft seem to work pretty well for floaties and semi floaties at different percents, but they do take some getting used to to land consistently. dair also works to a lesser extent, too, but it's not as good as shine for this in my experience. If you're trying to get a feel for it...

You're definitely right about footstooling being a lot better against floaties, but for wolf I think the main issue isn't whether or not the followup will work(From what I've seen, both nair and dair are essentially guaranteed for both floaties and mediums, not sure about ffers tho, haven't...

The optimal timing is something along the lines of lasering as soon as you leave the ground and fastfalling such that the laser come out just before you hit the ground, allowing you to waveland out. You'll know you have gotten the earliest airdodge timing if the laser comes out silently. Keep in...

Some Problems with Wolf's Laser and shine

Yeah, I know; Their effects are very similar though in this case, so that's why I related them closely. Sorry, I didn't make that clear :ohwell:

Some Problems with Wolf's Laser and shine

Your right, there is no reason to approach someone who is just eating lasers, but the problem is, in order to get your opponent to CC/SDI lasers, otherwise he will just shield them, not having to worry about you directly attacking. You have to approach, in the sense that you must move within...

Some Problems with Wolf's Laser and shine

When you shield, you confine yourself to a much smaller pool of options than if you were in neutral stance, opening yourself up to getting pressured in shield or punished for an oos option. What this means for wolf's approach options is he has a much harder time forcing his opponent into bad...

Some Problems with Wolf's Laser and shine

The thing is, before they were forced to either shield, attack, or otherwise avoid the laser, making it great for zoning, as if it hit it was an easy confirm, but now, you get almost no pressure. That's a pretty significant downgrade. Yes, they eat all of 5 percent for it, but that's nothing...

Some Problems with Wolf's Laser and shine

I noticed a while back(and some of you have as well, no doubt), that wolf's laser has a very serious weakness in that it can be SDI'ed or CCed to great effect, seriously hurting the duration of its hitstun, and hence severely limiting wolf's ability to combo out of laser. I haven't played...

    3.6 Wolf Changes

uair is not safe on shield at all, and it doesn't have the range to compensate for this, so it really isn't that great for approaching grounded opponents. It's still great as a non-committal approach vs opponents on platforms, though.
