I tend to send my opponents flying off stage, and laser them while they're trying to recover and follow up on that. Best if used at low percents so that you don't miss an opportunity to kill.

The drawback of shinespiking though, is that you'll have to do it twice. They can still manage to recover if you shine them only once. It's also good for spacing.
