    Neutral B on shield ?

The windbox knockback is weight-dependent, so lightweights like Puff, GnW, and MK suffer the effects the most. Puff utilt->rest is nearly impossible on Ivysaur because of synthesis :)

    Neutral B on shield ?

Yes, synthesis is very useful vs puff and g&w! You can synthesis out of just about anything close quarters

    Shield pressure with ivy

Nair->jab loops are incredible! Everyone use them more! You can substitute jab with another nair, grab, utilt, or retreating fair at any point in the loop. Nair->jab1->(crouch)->jab1->[any move] is also good.

    Ivy vs Ness and Ike

You can pretty much simplify the Ness matchup at mid/low level to just: bair more. Work on dash dancing and bair if he jumps/throws PK fire. Bair beats everything he has in the air. Once Ness is grounded, use dtilt (running dtilt) to interrupt his dash dance. If you can pop him up for a combo...

    Wavelanding SH Fair

Reddit thread comments copy/paste for reference: @Swann Just commenting to make sure everyone knows to (ab)use fair retreating waveland->dtilt against marth @Steel Kangaroo SH fair waveland back dtilt for baits, SH fair waveland forward ftilt if they shield and you want to apply pressure...

    Neutral B on shield ?

Nope! Though it would be awesome if it did.

    Ivy 3.6 Changes

Yeah, been doing this since Ivy's introduction in 2.5. It unfortunately doesn't work great on characters like Peach and ROB, but it's still useful and I'm having to rely on it a lot more. I'm just worried because it's not technically airtight pressure (for example, some characters can (STILL) CC...

    Ivy 3.6 Changes

Spacies are among the lightest characters in the game. I don't see your point. Please let me know when you play exclusively against peaches, samuses, zards, ROBs, etc etc etc Ftilt is phenomenal as an antiair, but it's no longer as useful (if at all) against CC-heavy playstyles. That's all I'm...

    Ivy 3.6 Changes

We're screwed against CC, seriously. Someone please tell me if they find an answer to CC. Ftilt feels awful now. Slow, less hits, not safe on hit or on block, SDI ramped back up so they just DI straight through you again with no effort like in 3.02 Nair is the same and vine whip actually kills...

Super Effective! Ivysaur match-up thread. [Updated for 3.0+]

Ah, didn't realize that uair spike would work well. That might actually be a game changer for me. Looking forward to the full notes later. Cheers.

Viridian City: A weekly-ish discussion about Ivysaur's Moves and More! This Week: Bair

I've actually landed first hit bair->grab a few times. You need to be crossing them up as the bair hits, because you are at significant frame disadvantage as soon as you start to grab. Obviously this setup does not work at all on characters with good dsmash coverage (peach, roy, rob, etc). I've...
