Damn, that's a good idea. It'll just barely poke him before he can get the laser out. Problem is that you'll probably get hit with the last laser he shot on your way down, resetting the neutral most likely, unless it flusters them.

I typically like to use platforms to dodge their lasers first, and then do drop-through lasers. A lot of it is timing and positioning. If you're getting hit hard with lasers, try powershielding or sh (if their low) or full hop over them and approach suddenly. Focus on catching them off guard...
