well apparently it was. something was wrong with that one so i got a new one.

So I've downloaded version 3.6 and I'm using Configurable usb loader to play. When i boot the game up its all fine except when i chose my characters and go to the stage select screen, the game reverts to brawl even when i go back to the other menus and going in game just crashes evertything...

Nah. It got less broken really

Ever since my brawl disc stopped working for some reason, I've started using an iso to play PM. I know there's one for netplay but that doesnt work at all on my wii and I can't play it via dolphin because my computer cant handle running it at full speed. So is there a 3.6 iso or a fullset iso...

Play with whatever controls are best for you. I would keep the R button for wavedashing though. Have you tried hovering using the L button?

Holding the ledge might not be the best option if a the opponent can attack or Up-B but it is the best option for when someone is in a helpless state. and attacking from the ledge depends on who you're playing. Marth, Peach, and Puff can attack pretty safely off the edge, but some characters...

It's really all up to the player's preference in what they're looking for in a smash game. Do you want the competitiveness of Melee, or the more expansive Brawl. Competitively, Brawl is a complete disaster imo. It's way too defensive and campy for my taste and just feels cheap a lot of times...
