I think she's a solid mid tier character. She's not bad, and she had good stuff going for her, but it's just that characters like Diddy Kong and Sonic exist that are even better. Palutena holds her own vs. most of the cast, but her real struggle is against characters that out-speed her; it's hard to play her spacing game when the opposing character can run circles around her.

What she needs is better safety/ frame of moves especially on her tilts and less landing lag on her aerials (her fair is good for that though). Super Speed and Lightweight would be super helpful if her custom specials were allowed; she would also have more reliable kill confirms with these moves. But anyway, that's my 2 rupees on Palutena.

I agree, if her customs were legal, she'd rise up. unfortunately with default move sets it keeps her repressed and mid tier at best.

Well, it's nice to know that you don't think she's bad! Honestly, I'd be okay with Palutena being mid-tier without customs. If I can struggle it out with Melee Mario I can do the same with default Pally.

That said, I still hope she gets buffed and/or customs become legal.

Yeah, default Palutena is mid tier. Custom Palutena on the other hand... rises a tier or maybe a tier and a half (basically somewhere in high tier); I'm thinking 1322 is her best set. Who knows, she may have more potential. I want to main Palutena again if customs are allowed.

Hate to say this, but after playing extensively with her customs, I don't really want to play her in default; she feels like a nerfed character when I go back to default. Customs is her true form, what she was designed to be imo.

She feels more like an actual Goddess with customs, lol.
