I haven't been able to play in a while, but I liked Raidraptors a lot. I was one of the only people who actually used the Rank Ups. If I ever get DN to work, I really want to try Majespecters, Graydles, and Deskbots. I also want to update my Odd-Eyes deck with the new cards from DOCS.

Wow, that's awesome. Though I don't know a lot about the decks you mentioned, they sound pretty cool. :) Maybe I'll try them out too once I pick up Yugioh once again.

Raidraptors are an archetype of Dark Wigned-Beasts that focus on Rank 4 monsters. They also use Rank Up Magic cards to continually summon even stronger Xyz Monsters. Majespecters are a bunch of Pendulum Monsters that are practically immune to effects and search stuff when they're summoned.

Graydles is a Synchro Theme that focuses on destroying your own cards. They have a lot of cards that steal the opponents monsters. Deskbots are an archetype of Machines that also use Pendulum and Synchro Monsters, and can easily OTK.

Those sound even better than I expected! :D
I'm especially interested in the Deskbots and Graydles. It's nice to hear that Synchro monsters are still getting lots of love. :)

For a while, Synchro Monsters were extremely neglected, but they're catching up once again.

Yeah, during Zexal's time, I felt like they lost a lot of power. By the way, I was looking at Pojo, and it says that a ritual deck is the strongest deck right now. Do you know anything about it?
D
dimensionsword64
Yeah. It's called Nekroz (Necloth in the OCG), and it's insanely powerful. They have a bunch of Ritual Monsters that have effects when they're on the field, and they have effects when they're in the hand. They have a boss monster called Nekroz of Trishula that banishes three of the opponent's cards when summoned.
D
dimensionsword64
They have a monster that can be discarded to search any Nekroz monster, and a monster that can be discarded for any Nekroz spell. They also have a monster that can work as the wholetribute for a Ritual Summon, and searches out more Nekroz monsters when its tributed.

All of the Ritual Spells are extremely versatile on how you summon them, and the spells search each other out. Also, most of the cards have effects that hinder Extra Deck monsters.

Gosh, they sound terrifying. It sounds like they would completely destroy the old meta. Do they have any hard counters that you know of?
D
dimensionsword64
Um... Basically, no. They don't really have any counters. Oh, I forgot one thing. They don't rely on backrow, and there's this card called Denko Sekka, that makes it so when you don't have any backrow, your opponent can't use any backrow either. They can just summon Denko, lock the opponents backrow, and OTK.
D
dimensionsword64
Actually, a lot of the top decks can abuse Denko.

My, the power creep is real. Does anybody in Arc-V use this deck?
D
dimensionsword64
No. None of the top decks are used by characters in Arc V. Although, in the OCG, there's a deck called Odd-Eyes Magician that is extremely good and is used by the main character. However, the main character doesn't use a lot of the cards that make the deck good.

Do you think they might make an appearance later in the anime?
Lol, that reminds me of Yusei's deck in 5D's. It was so terrible yet he made it look perfect.
D
dimensionsword64
I doubt it. They came out in a new structure deck, but it doesn't seem like he'll ever use any of the new cards from the structure deck.

While the main characters deck could be better, it's not horrible.
A10theHero
A10theHero
Oh, okay. What about the top decks? Could some strong villains appear later in the anime with those decks?
Yeah, I agree. But I think that out of all their decks, Yusei's is the worst. The deck relied on using a lot of low-level monsters to bring out more powerful monsters. On a symbolic level, that was perfect. But in a competitive scene, it was too slow.
D
dimensionsword64
I don't think so. In the sets, there's a spot for anime cards, and a spot for non-anime cards, and they were in the non-anime.

Yusei's deck has actually gotten some support to be fairly good.
A10theHero
A10theHero
Aww, that's too bad. It'd be cool to see what the writers'd do to make Yuya win.
Was that new support recent? Cuz I don't remember his deck getting any better during the 5D's era.
