Haha, I'm actually making a bit of a fuss in there right now.
TTTTTsd
TTTTTsd
I mean a fuss is different from a 30 page circlejerk about ninjas and premature nutting over the lack of nerfs + telling a project director that he's not doing his job proper. Like, just go read the last thirty pages in the ruins of CCI, they're all awful.
TTTTTsd

Yes, I'm a little upset that it happened by the by, kinda ruined a perfectly good pace of discussions in favor of dumb GameFAQs nerf bandwagons.

I don't think I need to, I can use my imagination.

I'm just excited that the new patch will inject some new blood into the discussion. Salty about that 4BR tier list tho
TTTTTsd
TTTTTsd
4BR tier list only has one major flaw IMO. Too many letters, afraid to use + or - or even a numbered grade. Viability gaps are not large enough to run from S to J lol.

>pika in top 5

I mean there are personal opinions but I haven't met a single person who can justify using S to J to me yet. I've just been told "it represents small gaps" which it does the opposite of to anyone who doesn't want to sift through data. Tier lists are supposed to be convenient in representing viability without the need for extensive amounts of reading.

TTTTTsd
(outside of J being JonnyWestside tier or S2J being our tier list. Both constructed by me so yeah, got nothing in response)
Amadeus9
Amadeus9
Eh I don't think the s - j thing is a big deal. they made it clear that they are arbitrary and the top/high/mid/bottom listings are what matters. The placings tho, I have issues with.
TTTTTsd
TTTTTsd
It might be clear that they're arbitrary but how many Smash peeps from outside (including new players) are gonna read that? That's the thing, it just represents the data poorly. That's really it. They defaulted to letters for no reason other than to use letters, why not just use numbers if there's gonna be so many? It literally clashes and doesn't correlate with other Smash tier lists historically, to boot.
Amadeus9
Amadeus9
Again, I don't think it's a big issue :^)

It also lends itself to really stupid organization things though. Falcon and Yoshi in their own tier (wutttt LOL) for instance. It's just weird.

List itself isn't super great either, I think Doc is better than both Marth and Roy (controversial opinion perhaps?)
Amadeus9
Amadeus9
Not controversial. I agree. Also why is roy > marth in the list. wtf.
TTTTTsd
TTTTTsd
Roy is over Marth because his moves don't randomly whiff like Marth does. I've finally accepted that Marth is hot booty, Cloud just drove it super home. I love hitbox trails that are more than the usual misleading they are in Smash 4.
TTTTTsd
TTTTTsd
Additionally his mobility is better and as it turns out his recovery time on literally everything outside of his bazooka FSmash is better than Marth so theoretically he is safer in the grounded neutral game than Marth ever was. Poor Marth LOL
Amadeus9
Amadeus9
Roy mobility is not better. You seen that boy's air acceleration? nasty bad. Literally complete kills the fighter. Not to mention Marth even has better results.
TTTTTsd
TTTTTsd
They both have no results that I can think of that are notable, I just feel like ultimately Marth only has downwards to go compared to Roy (IMHO). Like, it's not a massive boost over Marth (He's not a tier up from Marth like, at all LOL) but I think he's better enough to be more worth playing. People stopped labbing him when he stopped being ez (which is the opposite of Cloud =3)
TTTTTsd
TTTTTsd
Don't get me wrong, both are bad, but Marth's had a year and been spoonfed some decent improvements and still hasn't shown me much outside of Pugwest showing how Marth can work in dubz with good partners. Regardless, I think Roy is marginally more relevant as in neither are worth it but if I had to pick I'd take the slightly less lethal poison.
Amadeus9
Amadeus9
See heres the thing tho, marth has decent results as a pocket counter pick. Sometimes when you're playing someone and going even, and things are on the line, playing an odd fighter that can win thru sheer fundamental play, it can clinch you the win.
