Then again, it doesn't help that some of the patches made characters weaker. Some did get stronger, but slightly; few characters touch on being able to KO at 100% and those who can usually through perhaps over-tuned setups, get dropped on. Ends up with a ton of characters KO'ing later, people complain, etc.

i would rather Ryu get more damage on his tilts specifically utilt and lose the utilt lock. If SRK gets nerfed then Ryu drops a tier. its really that simple. he would not more compensation to stay where he is and im not even sure if he is top 5. He has matches that he clearly loses. Diddy being one of them and since he is probably number 1 and is VERY common, that is not a small match to lose.

meant to say he would need more compensation to stay where is tier-wise.

Yeah, I figured as much since weaker SRK for a slightly stronger Tatsu wouldn't cut it. If only his heavy Tatsu was his EX one. Just thinking of how Tatsu could be an amazing mixup.

Also, do you find it weird how his Up Smash doesn't have invincibility? He crouches down, but because he doesn't hit up as far and because Smash isn't SF, it's a bit risky of an anti-air and not as useful compared to heavy Utilt or SRK. Still, Ryu's anti-airs are good, but Up Smash kinda in Falco's Up Smash place pre-1.1.4.

Totally on with you that some of his tilts should be a bit stronger like light Ftilt. Even if it had to lose its I-frames, it's kinda low damage. I'd expect it to do 9%. Heavy Dtilt could work it's damage with lower recovery or higher damage. It's a safer whiff punish, but Down Smash does so much damage compared to it.

For light Utilt... I wonder if it was "right" for it to be an elbow and not something else. It's a good move, but taken into context of Smash, its short range forces it to be really fast and weak or be really slow and strong like Capt.'s Side Smash. Could be fast and strong, but it would have to have high recovery and it would still have short range or not like Capt.'s.
