Just an fyi, you've inspired me to create Pokemon for you, Writer, and Riddle. I'm making the sprites, and I'm almost done with yours, and I can post the Pokemon now if you want or I could wait and finish the sprites.
That's awesome! I can't wait to see them!

Edit - Anytime is fine with me. Let's see if you've captured my ideal typing. :)

Typing - Probably not. The name kind of came to mind before the typing. But I tried hooking you up with a helpful ability. :p

Terriwasp
Bug/Electric
90/40/90/135/95/150
Ability: AgileWing (Levitate with SR immunity.)

Attack Movepool: Bug Buzz, Attack Order, Charge Beam, Thunderbolt, Grass Knot, Hidden Power, Zap Cannon

Support Movepool: Substitute, Lock On, Calm Mind, Agility, Baton Pass, Charge, Defend Order, Heal Order, Thunder Wave.

Dex Entry: Terriwasp flies around at rapid speeds, providing electricity to it's community. Occasionally, it'll stop and shoot the breeze with Yanmega when it gets a chance.

EDIT: I didn't copy mood4food, I had this idea down as soon as you left but waited for you to get back to post it.

I was thinking Fire / Electric. I don't think / hope I'm that buggy.

That's pretty awesome though, Rockem. <333

Your wait has been cut short:

Writer's:

Rukupo
Dark/Ground
100/40/135/120/140/15
Decypher: Shows all four of the opponent's moves.

Attack Movepool: Dark Pulse, Earth Power, Psychic, Tri-Attack, Spacial Rend, Power Gem.

Support Movepool: Glare, Toxic, Hypnosis, Will-O-Wisp, Psych Up, Teeter Dance, Encore, Trick Room, Calm Mind, Torment.

Dex Entry: Master of the Unown, Rukupo spends nearly all of his time in ruins, interpreting hyroglyphs.

Riddle's: Please note that this is Ubers due to his love of the Ubers tier.

Solarid
Grass/Steel
140/70/140/55/145/50
Energize: Absorbs fire type attacks and replenishes HP.

Attack Movepool: Power Whip, Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Knock Off, Ice Punch, Fire Punch, ThunderPunch

Support Movepool: Stun Spore, Toxic, Encore, Substitute, Protect, Recover, Rest, Sleep Talk, Refresh, Sleep Powder

Dex Entry: When it's time to eat, Solarid simply places its solar panels above its head to collect energy, then it returns to guarding the forest.

so, we get any idea what these guys look like or just a pile of stats, moves and a short Dex entry?

Well as of today the only guys who have shown artistic submissions here are Charmander, Celebi, FlyinFilipino, and yourself. I may have missed some others but the fact is we don't have the talent to draw what we think up.

Ah, I forgot about this thread, I have a few pokemon ideas I'll try to post if the dex isn't complete. (Though I'm making them for my own 'dex, there's nothing wrong with posting them here too right? :bee:)

Also, if we're doing abilities, this is one of my personal favorites I made:

Forge -Being hit by fire attacks sharply raises defense

BTW, how many pokemon have been made? I didn't see a list in the op and I don't want to go through 94 pages. lol

*Also I can take requests if I get a good enough idea of what the pokemon should look like

Ehh. What kinda of Pokemon are you planning on giving that ability to? Gaining +2 defense for a Fire-type attack is a bit much I think.

Also, we've made too many Pokemon. That's really the truth. XD

Steel-types, thus the name "forge", since it has to do with metal.

And I guess we're done making pokemon then. lol

Hm. It would be have to be pretty limited and not paired with a Steel-type with access to Amnesia or something.

Well I dunno, since we're not seeming to be logging them anymore, so I don't think it matters.

I already stated that I'm working on the sprites, my apologies for not giving a short description.

Terriwasp: Mostly based off of a basic European Wasp, it's base color is yellow and I'm not 100% sure on what the color scheme is going to be.

Rukupo: He's dominantly black with some brown here and there, mildly human shaped minus the fact that his eyes are in the palm of his hands, similar to the arabic Hamsa.

Solarid: I planned on this being a Tangrowth Evo, with three sharp claws at the end of each hand and solar panels attached to his forearms.

Again, I apologize if these are too vague, but as previously stated, I'm working on the sprites. Life johns will be life johns, I'll do what I can.

I've drawn some Pokemon too Tery.

Can anyone find the last Megapost? I looked through 50 pages and I STILL can't find it! Once it's found, I'd be willing to update it if JOE wants to put it in the OP.

I'm almost done with the lower level line that I've been working on. I'm having a lot of trouble drawing them though :(

That's a pretty cool ability. :bee:

I know where the mega-post is, I'll edit it into this post in a minute.

Here it is:

It would be nice to sort out the Dex, kind of organize it into the Pokemon that we want to really keep that'd work for the region, and give faces to the Pokemon that don't have them yet. Like JOE! said, it can be a team effort!

Thanks flyingfilipno.

I'm totally casual when it comes to pokemon so the stat numbers on those lists do nothing for me. lol I want to see the artwork. (Which is nowhere to be seen on that list, oddly)

If you open the Numerical Order list, the names of the Pokemon should link to their individual posts, which may or may not contain artwork (I'm one of the few people that drew pictures for everything). It'd be nice to update the list and maybe have votes on what Pokemon will be included in the "SWF-Dex", and throw them into the region (Gyms included).

Also, it'd be nice if we collaborated more with the Evolution: A Step Beyond CAP, because these two threads are pretty related to each other. Pokemon from there could be included in the Dex.

Guess I missed yours then, because I clicked on 5 random names and got nothing but numbers and attacks. lol

Alright, thanks! If you have any ideas for coloration patterns, just PM me.

I'll try out making some of them a little later.
Cool beans; for most of them they should have a coloration key listed in their information somewhere. See, I was thinking ahead!

It'd also be kinda cool if maybe you could color SmashCAP 2, Lilibelle, but following more closely with the color scheme I had in mind: http://www.smashboards.com/showpost.php?p=10054753&postcount=93 Only if you feel like it, though.

If I get a minute later today, I'll see if I can make some updates to the mega-post with all the new Pokemon posted since then, unless Moozle gets to it first. :p

EDIT: Also, it'd be nice to finally change the title of this thread, maybe to just "The SWF-Dex: Make Your Own Pokemon" or something.

Alright, I'll try that one first. (Good thing you told me about the color scheme for Lillbelle, whenever I look at the sketch, I see an alternative Sunkern evo so I would have ended up making it yellow and brown. lol)

^This will be organized better soon.

The SWF-Dex Region:

Hey, remember our region?

Tohoko

[/CENTER]

It's been a while, but here's an updated map, including that brand-spanking new Prehistoric Zone idea that we through around previously. Since we seem to be in a Pokemon-inventing lull, I thought maybe it'd be a good time to start sorting our large pool of current Pokemon. We could, for example, determine the habitat(s) that Hedgeree, or Aquick, or Tamboo, or Thermite, or Fyunizzard live in. We could also start determining the Gym rosters. In case you forgot the types we associated with each city/town's Gym, here's a list:

Mace Town - Ground
Fennel City - Flying
Cilantro City - Poison
Mint Mountain - Ice
Caraway City - Dark
Cayenne City - Fire
Sage Town - Grass
Tarragon City - Dragon

For example, Tuskorch could appear in the Mace Town Gym Leader's roster, and Kelpent could appear in Tarragon City Gym's roster.

These are just ideas though; feel free to contribute your own thoughts. Speaking of ideas, throw some ideas out for improvements to the region. You know, landmarks or natural sites that you think would be cool to have (as you can see, there are some blank spots scattered about the map). Ideas pertaining to individual cities would be cool too. For example, I think it'd be cool to base Tarragon City (where the Dragon Gym is located) around this real-life location:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Itsukushima_Shrine

I guess that's about it for now; in summary, what we're looking for is:

Pokemon locations
Gym rosters
Region refinements/ideas/improvements

and as always, new Pokemon ideas would be great. If we have any artists around, drawings/sprites for any of our Pokemon that currently lack faces would be awesome as well. There's a nearly complete listing of our current Pokemon (among other things) in the mega-post on page 62 of this thread. I know y'all are still full of ideas! Together, we can make the SWF-Dex something awesome!
Here's a short description of the region:

The region of Tohoko is located far away from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. (It is based loosely on the Tohoku region of Japan.) It is a relatively small region, but it is full of natural wonders, interesting landmarks, and of course, unique Pokemon.

Pestle Town is a small oasis located in the desert in the southeast corner of the region. The region's leading Pokemon professor, a specialist in fossils, resides here. Although the climate is mostly arid, the area supports a variety of life and houses many secret places. The Prehistoric Zone is located within the mountains to the west.

Mace Town is a bustling mining village located on the shore of Stratus Lake. It is accessible from Pestle Town by crossing a short canyon. Its surrounding high cliffs are rich in resources. The first Gym, specializing in the Ground type, is located here.

Fennel City is the eastern seaport of Tohoko, surrounded by gently rolling hills. The ocean breezes provide it with a refreshing climate, and the city itself has a pleasant atmosphere. The region's second Gym, specializing in the Flying type, is located here. The city is located next to a river that is key in transporting goods from other locations in the region and a bridge must be crossed to continue northward.

Cilantro City is located just outside a large forest and is surrounded by swamplands created by the nearby river. Regardless, it is a popular destination for travelers and full of interesting citizens (though there seems to be shady activity in places). The third Gym, specializing in the Poison type, is located here.

Mint Mountain is a quaint village located at a high altitude. Old traditions are still carried on here in ancient temples, even though the area is slowly becoming a tourist resort as well. Though the climate is cold and often snowy, the area is still teeming with life and serves as a gateway before the harsher mountain trail ahead. The fourth Gym, specializing in the Ice type, is located here.

After crossing the difficult trail through the mountains, the altitude lowers and Caraway City is accessible. It is an old town partly built into the mountain face, surrounded by mystery and superstition. It even contains the remnants of an ancient underground stronghold. The fifth Gym, specializing in the Dark type, is located here.

Cayenne City is located at the end of a long, scenic route leading from the mountains. As the western seaport of the region, it is also the largest city and a bustling metropolis. Modern culture thrives here, as do establishments of fine cuisine. It is also home to a popular resort located on the beaches that border the bay. The sixth Gym, specializing in the Fire type, is located here.

Sage Town is an isolated, traditional village located deep within a vast forest in the center of the region. It is accessible by river from other locations in the region. The people that live here hold on to ancient traditions and strive to be connected to nature. There are many scenic temples and towers located in the surrounding area, and the mysterious forest is home to a great variety of Pokemon. The seventh Gym, specializing in the Grass type, is located here.

Tarragon City is located across the bay from Cayenne City, but it is not as large due to it being slightly geographically isolated from the rest of the region. Here, tradition and modern culture blend together to create an interesting atmosphere to live in. The coastline is home to a fishing village and a partly submerged ancient temple. The eight and final Gym, specializing in the Dragon type, is located here.

Tentative Gym Leader Name Possibilities:

I'm working on some Gym Leader names; anyone wanna throw out any ideas?

Ground - Sandra
Flying - Russell, Hawkins
Poison - Vanessa
Ice - Anders, Rachel, Alice
Dark - Melanie
Fire - Kelvin
Grass - Hazel, Paulanne
Dragon - Hunter, Ryou
That's it for now; hopefully this organizes things a little better, and I'll be making updates to this periodically, too. So you all keep on submitting your great ideas and artwork, and also start thinking about the other aspects of the SWF-Dex too. Keep up the good work guys!

A new pair Pokemon (Ground-type included) to be presented tomorrow. Stay tuned.

I want a certain niche to be filled by these two but I'm not sure how to go about doing that. I'll post what I have so far later to get help from you guys.

By twin Pokemon I mean like how Plusle and Minun contrast each other / Legendary Pokemon contrast each other, but not through just ability. I want to try and match them through playstyle and other options as well.

You seemed to have missed this info on the "water/dark pokemon" flyingfilipino.

Okay, so I love this thread and I'm not going to let it die so I've drawn another Pokémon :p I want there to be more activity in this thread, so I'd appreciate help with the name, stats, and movepool.

Water/Dark

The orb on its head absorbs light, leaving the water around this pokémon seeming deep and endless.

This Pokémon's tail is made up of mysterious vapors that trail for several meters behind.

My idea was basically an elusive deep sea pokemon. It disappears as it swims and is generally just cool :p I guess it's similar to Lanturn, but I think maybe this could be a cousin evolution to it? I know before we were talking about pokemon that evolve from hate instead of happiness; maybe this pokemon could be an example of that.
Anglor

Much like how Lanturn is to lanternm Anglor is to angler. The "lor" ending can attribute to Lord, which is a dark-esque type of character.

90 / 100 / 75 / 110 / 90 / 115

More like an offensive version of Lanturn because it's based off of hatred. Solid Speed stat to work with alongside good mixed sweeper attack stats.

What did you have in mind for its ability?

Edit: just kidding I missed it

I have no idea what I want them to look like at the moment. Their playstyle, typing, and abilities are meant to reflect each other.

Terracer
Type: Psychic / Ground
Ability: Renegade* / Mold Breaker
Renegade - Type resistances by this Pokemon are increased by 25%. Ground-type moves deal supereffective damage.
Base Stats: 70 / 120 / 60 / 140 / 60 / 100

Offensive Movepool - Psychic, Psybeam, Shadow Ball, Energy Ball, Aura Sphere, Earthquake, Earth Power, Psycho Cut, Signal Beam, Thunderbolt, Thunder

Support Movepool - Agility, Calm Mind, Confuse Ray, Night Shade, Bulk Up, Teeter Dance, Psych Up, Toxic, Will-o-Wisp, Hypnosis, Thunder Wave, Power Swap, Dragon Dance

Terracer is clearly a sweeper by definition. 120 / 140 / 100 offensive stats are not bad at all. However, given Psychic-type's poor coverage it's going to have to rely on its secondary Ground-type. Renegade softens opposing resistances by 25% which can be helpful, but also grants an unwanted weaknesses to the common Ground-types. Mold Breaker opens other opportunities for sweeping, allowing hits on Bronzong and the Rotoms. Defensively Terracer is poor. Being Psychic / Ground suffers weaknesses from Dark-, Ghost-, Ice-, Grass-, Water-, Bug-, and Ground-types, with only one immunity and hardly any resistances. Stealth Rock isn't a problem, but lack of a recovery move and the above problems on defense will surely hurt it.

Terreciel
Type: Dark / Ground
Ability: Life Aura* / Mold Breaker
Life Aura - Neutral hits dealt to this Pokemon are decreased by 25%. Fighting-type moves deal 50% damage.
Base Stats: 140 / 60 / 100 / 60 / 110 / 80

Offensive Movepool - Dark Pulse, Crunch, Shadow Sneak, Night Shade, Earthquake, Earth Power, Aura Sphere, Seismic Toss, Shadow Ball

Support Movepool - Agility, Amnesia, Calm Mind, Confuse Ray, Night Shade, Teeter Dance, Psych Up, Toxic, Will-o-Wisp, Hypnosis, Taunt, Recover

The defensive compliment. Dark / Ground isn't an amazing defensive typing, but it isn't terrible, either. Immunities to Psychic- and Electric-types are nice, while Life Aura shifts Fighting-type moves to a resistance. Life Aura also softens up all neutral hits, making switching in easy. Recover gives Terreciel longevity as well as a reliable recovery move, and works for his 140 / 100 / 110 defenses, only furthered under a Sandstorm. Terrible offensive traits means Terreciel needs to use Seismc Toss or Night Shade to get by, which although aren't poor options but leave opening for the conflicting type.

Numbers don't guarantee a good base stat spread. As expressed earlier, would Ninjask be amazing if his stat spread was 10 / 10 / 10 / 10 / 10 / 500? No.

It's how the numbers are distributed that counts. These Pokemon are merely flavor and really won't be able to contribute much.

true, but still, most pokemon hover around 510-540, most pokes I see here are like 550-600 XD

EDIT:

on another note, anyone think Electric Fence would be a broken move?

you forgot a stat there Terywj.

@JOE!: Arcanine isn't the only one. What about Slaking at 570?
Whoops! My bad. I fixed it.

I think priority moves should always just be priority moves. As in 40 base power 100 accuracy, etc. The only "different" priority moves are Sucker Punch and Fake Out, both of which have their drawbacks. If you were to change Electric Fence, remove the sideffect which acts as Block.

there is also extreme speed and pursuit...

(well, pursuit is special)

anywho, I guess I could just remove the priority from it seeing as it's the signature move of a poke with 100 base speed

Moozle used a revive!

I was doodling in math today and ended up with something that I actually think looks pretty neat, and I remembered we were low on water types (if I remember correctly). I can't really think of a secondary typing (maybe steel, if any) or a name, so if the idea is okay, suggestions would be great. I'll write up more about it if you like the idea.

Curroknot
(Current + knots).

Curroknot uses the blades on its head to propel itself through the water.
Curroknot are known to ride powerful sea currents, and are rumored to reach up to 75 miles per hour.

I've also been trying to think of a water/dark type pokémon, since I think it's a cool combo.
I never wrote up a stat spread for this guy. I was thinking of this one, since we're in need of some more mediocre pokémon. I still don't know what ability it should have besides swift swim. I think Water/Steel would work best for its typing.

70 / 95 / 70 / 65 / 65 / 120

Edit: Kelvin is such a good name for Fire gym leader. I don't know how it hasn't been done before lol. I also love Alice as the ice gym leader.
