TLK, there is a big difference between online and offline, because even in the slightest lag online, your moves get affected and so does the timing you need to powershield everything, so you are (unknowingly) sandbagging if you're playing online. It messes with your mindset when playing in ways you wouldn't even think, lol. When I play at a tournament I come up with combos and mixups that I would never think of when I play wifi...even when I'm playing offline friendlies I get more into it and more creative than when I play online tourney matches. So I'm just saying, you're much better off going to a tourney and saving a few matches if you want us to critique you playing to the best of your ability.

Even when I play against people from my state, my mindset is nearly as creative as when I'm offline, but there's still a little input delay that messes up PSing and arrow tech skill, for example.

Try to work on spacing. That was probably the biggest issue I saw in this match. Play keep away and trying to give yourself enough "Space" so that you don't get punished everytime one of your attacks fail to hit your opponent.

Save your up smash >_>

don't up smash so much, use your zair closer to the floor and when you are falling and you are really high, if you are gonna use your boomerang try to throw it diagonally to the floor, dont just throw it at the air. Also like mjg said work on your spacing.

*referring to the second video, I don't want to say anything about teams*

Okay well...

few things:

If you're going to SAFC to show off tech skill, do it right. =/
A for effort though :D lol

Vs Snake, you made an awful lot of silly mistakes where you ran right into his attacks...I would just be more careful vs Snake, and realize how stupidly broken his aerials and tilts are. And don't throw bombs when you see a grenade is coming your way in the air xD

When I play vs Snake I try to make it look a little like Jash vs Fatal, meaning I try to avoid stuff while at the same time getting 268937848 of my own projectiles out there by camping in the air. Speaking of which, you rarely ever used arrows...even though boomerangs and bombs are more useful, I think you should add arrows in there SOMEWHERE (like from a FF bair reverse QD) because adding arrows allows you to be unpredictable, so when you look like you're about to FF your bair and reverse QD, you actually DJ and bomb pull. You did this but you never really conditioned your opponent into thinking you would Bair FF reverse QD, so the mindgame wasn't exactly there, I think. Another mixup idea: retreating SHDA with bomb in hand to BCAT second arrow to run away back JCT.

Also there were a few input errors in there...like when you threw your bomb in the wrong direction a few times, and when you zair'd and he was behind you as you were landing. Watch out for those I guess

vs MK, I hope you watched the video over again, lol...first stock was pretty good, just too much approaching and not enough bombs. Remember they break nado, a few times I saw you had a bomb in hand and he came at you in a tornado but you didn't throw it at him, I'm pretty sure that would have worked. I love punishing MKs out of nado, it's the best feeling in the world xD. Just jump above them, dthrow your bomb and do a bomb > uair ( this is DA BES if you kill with it out of MK nado)/bair/dair (only if you know it'll connect, keep in mind you shouldn't overuse dair besides in a few cases like bair to footstool dair which I saw you do which was good). If you're going to punish with aerials, keep in mind MK is short so full hop bair won't work if MK's on the ground. Don't worry I do this a lot too, out of habit xD. I would FH nair and MK would just be on the ground smirking and saying "haha you fool, I'm too short to be affected by your shenanigans!" I'd also say more bair, less nair since you can combo MK with bair and it has more vertical reach. Your choice with that though, any move can work, as long as you use it right.

ALMOST FORGOT, very important: sometimes you would just jump around randomly, like at 5:29, and not attack or pull out any projectiles, and you would airdodge into the ground or something and get punished. Avoid that, lol...you did it first game too I'm pretty sure.

So...yeah. Hope this helps :D

I know, but still, those matches showed pretty much the MU in a nutshell.

...and "copy" is such a strong...hateful word...how about we just go with "observe"?

observing is alright. doing some things that they do can be alright but when you start to assume that what he did was always the best choice for that specific situation its a bit too much imo.

Yeah pretty much that.

You guys know I didn't mean "I try to copy his style and do everything he did" but I meant "I incorporate some of his mixups into my game while using the mindset of don't get hit, PS the C4s and avoid the grenades"

I'm not harping on you. Do whatever.

Do not try to PS the C4. Just don't be near it and make sure you know where it is at all times.

I was debating on posting these since the matches are kind of boring to watch...but thats how this ******** MU is played:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sitswdwLrbI

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PE1Ns_lFbQ0

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eXO4g2682o

I guess vs Atomsk as well...I fail:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqeuaxChn0g

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwRwEVlQC9A

@Icy: Ill watch your matches now since I have time. Idk what to say for you vs falco because that is one ***** of a MU. As for pit, I've been able to play aggro and cammpy against them..but I am not sure on which one is more effective in the MU. Just depends on how I feel.

EDIT: Try not to use Up Smash until you are ready to kill. If you are gonna use Quick Draw/Arrow Cancel, make sure that you can execute it correctly. It leaves you vulnerable if you don't cancel it properly.

vs falco: Just try not to get too close. He beats us in CQC.
youtube doesn't like you...

Oh really?

So the name given to someone repeatedly commenting on me giving my opinions in matchup threads and video critique threads, almost every single time (and even on this page) is..?

Example:
Nair to Arrow isn't really the best idea.
(even though HyRo, and sometimes you in your own matches actually, have clearly proven it otherwise)
Just don't become predictable or the snake player will read your jumps and counter it with one of snakes laggy, but broken, aerials.
(as if I couldn't figure that out)

hmmm...I call that harping =/

Do not try to PS the C4. Just don't be near it and make sure you know where it is at all times.
And...why not? If you're hit (or thrown) to a certain area above a C4 then there's no "being away from it."

So at 1:46, you're telling me it would have been a bad idea for him to fastfall and shield (resulting in a PS)?

can't we all just get along? :p

and...err... i actually think at 1:46 it WOULD have been a bad idea to fast fall and PS because that would have resulted in a high risk of getting hit because there wasn't much time and its not like he could of done anything important BECAUSE he did a PS. airdodge would have been good. i agree with MJG on this, its not worth PS the mine it will get you nowhere.

Stuff.
LOL

I didn't even notice XD.

Well...there is a reason for everything I am saying :)

My point about the C4 was that there SHOULD BE NO REASON FOR YOU TO BE NEAR IT. Obviously you won't avoid it 100% of the time because we are all human but you shouldn't even be near the C4 for the most part.

EDIT: @ Zephill: All the matches were reuploaded to this channel

If you airdodge into the ground you'll blow up.

If you shield, you won't.
i said nothing about airdodging into the ground. all i said was to airdodge because frankly if you airdodge while an attack is going and you are in the air...IT WONT HIT...

on another note, happy bday MJG

I updated the OP of this thread, and we're now running on an entirely new format.

The layout isn't complete (needs more pictures and some color fixes), but all the instructions are there and it's structured the way I want it. Whenever you can, check it out, and start updating again.

@S@nt just save replays, the only reason I brought my wii to the last tourney was for people to save replays, but nobody saved any, people here don't care much about videos. Also cameras for recording for tv sucks :x
