All that aside, you should definitely come to this! We're working very hard to make sure this the best tournament experience ever. Having you here would be KIND OF a big deal, especially with Armada already coming as well. :O

I want to see Dr. PP vs Armada b/c I wasn't able to attend Pound V. I missed this battle of epic proportions! REMATCH PLEASE! For the children....

Update guys....The tournament just got BIGGER. We added more venue space in terms of a lounge area to hang out and watch matches being streamed remotely. Pics coming No later than tonight (Taken by me). We're talking about AT-LEAST 15K sq feet of venue now. Edit: Also, the lounge will have friendlies, and food, and money matches

EDIT 2: We are also doing a Regional Smash tournament in April as the pre-quel to MSU. Keeping w/ the who "school theme" as MSU be Mississippi Smash UNIVERSITY. This one MIGHT be called MSHS Mississippi Smash High School. XD. RSVP link is here:

Don't you mean Armada isn't from the Atlantic South? Also who manges the Gmail account? I added that Gmail onto my Google Talk, but no one has seem to confirm the add.

Top 8 teams and Singles get 1st seed into Apex Pools

Top placing Regional Player gets a $100 stipend to go to Apex.

There is wireless all around campus, but I'll have to talk to MSU's ITS to see about getting access for all tournament attendants over that weekend.

Yes, We have AMAZING Wi-Fi. It's on a college campus, so the whole school is wi-fi

Some quick notes: The 10k event space. The tables will not be circular as pictured, but instead rectangular laid out in rows (also no table cloth).

The lounge on the 1st floor will be home to friendlies and live streaming of matches and the current bracket results

The cafeteria is actually a lot bigger than in the pic. Its home to Chic-Fil-A, Sabarro Pizza, A convince store, Spanish food, A sandwich shop, and many more food places

The lounge on the second floor is also going to have friendlies and as well be a reception area

The 10K event space has the 1 IMAX projector and 2 other projectors which will be on the side as well (all streaming diff matches

The Grand-Stage also has a projector and will be used for high profile/hype matches

We rented out the entire 2nd and 3rd floors of the event building and partial of the 1st floor. So the entire 15k sq feet of venue space can not be seen in jus these few pics. But yea, its a **** load of space

I actually wanted to sticky this back in January but I asked you and you said for me to wait a few months since it was too early. Any tournament with Armada in it needs an auto sticky.

Melee ruleset has to be the same as Apex's, but I don't think it's been posted yet?

I was just going to jump on the bandwagon and use this ruleset (whenever it gets released, I guess it's just Pound 5's ruleset?). I'm not going to do anything crazy like ban MK, I don't know enough about Brawl to challenge BBR's decision on that.

PS As for the pictures, I have a nice camera (better than the iPhone, anyway) that I plan on using to take pictures/video. Justin's are good for now, but getting higher quality, non-blurry images is on my to-do list for this.

Oh, one question to our Brawl players: Are semifinals usually best of 5? I know it is the standard for that in major tournaments now in Melee, but I didn't know if that shift had been made in Brawl yet.

NorCal has actually used best of 5 for quarter finals actually for Melee. Since you are the head TO, you can even make every bracket set best of 5 even if you wanted to and one time there was a thread pushing for a best of 5 set any time there was anticipated extra time.

What does ITT mean? Also does Alex Strife require all qualifiers to follow the same rules or can you add your own rules to it? If you can add your own rules to it, by all means do best of 5 for all bracket sets and ban KJ64, RC, and Brinstar.

Post in this thread if you support a European rule set for MSU. If there is enough response, Alex Strife will let the qualifiers run European rule sets. Just say something as simple as: "I support the European rule set of using best of 5 for all bracket sets and have RC, Brinstar, and KJ64 banned."
