I think i learned the secret to getting better.

Quit worrying about getting better. Just play and stop getting *****.

Hax imparted this on me in a conversation and i believe it works.

I hope i can play again tommorrow to see if i play well again.

Its just so simple, if you get ****ed up by an 80% combo, or a death combo, just dont do it again.

Melee has too many variables to be mapped out like Street Fighter.

Learn how to follow up on openings(its hard, alot harder than traditional FGs) and stopped getting ****ed up.

If something doesnt work, dont do it. Or save it for later and try to catch them offguard, but most importantly, know you can do it. While i was playing well i was just playing, if something didnt work i didnt get mad or wonder why, i just DIDNT do it again. Then at the end of the night i was getting mad at myself and i started to play like ****, even got 4 stocked in a MU i had a winning record in for the day. I stopped just playing and started worrying about **** that didnt matter.

I was playing as falcon vs the falco of people who are of my skill level or slightly higher, and at times i was just giving them the absolute ****. As far as their foxes went, that was significantly easier. I felt like their foxes werent even ready.


The biggest difference was i stopped only tech chasing on predicition and believed in myself enough to do it on reaction. The more i succeeded the more i improved, the higher my confidence went.

At one point in a 3 game span, my falcon vs Peefs falco, i gave peef the 2 best comboes ive ever done(1 game 1, another 2 games later). Even peef admitted i was doing him dirty outloud during and after the combos, and alot of u know my and peefs relationship is rocky at best sometimes.

This post has nothing to do with the skill level of my opponents, as i said the worse player i played friday was AS GOOD as me, im just trying to tell you what i saw.

As far as vs falco goes, kill him when he is off the stage. It is REMARKABLY NOT hard to do if you believe in urself. I lost track of the number of times i perfectly edgeguarded ppls falcos friday.

Johnny, you CAN edgeguard! Just believe. Trust me, i didnt go from being bad to better than you in one day. Id bet any amount of $$$ youre just mind****ed. If i can do it, ANY of u can.

I could go on, but i make so many ****ing typos on my phones its pissing me off and distracting me.

If i play again within the next few days i might have more to report.

You got to have faith playa! Faith in urself! You can do whatever the **** u want.

u just messed with the wrong captain falcon main son/father. i hope scar comes in and super bananas you just for that even if it means i wont have anyone to make fun of on the boards for the rest of my smash career

I managed to get through another entire tournament without getting recorded lolz
I promise you I'm not avoiding it but it just happened that way.

Throughout the day I went
Before tourney friendlies horrible
Tournament Pretty good
After tournament friendlies eh

Which I suppose you can't complain about lol
If you ever wanted your wonderful moments, it should be during tourney right?
I struggled a lot without my cstick lol, It was really tough but I made sure not to john at all during tournament
I johned like a ***** during friendlies
But tournament you play the best you can no excuses or go home

I wish I had gotten my match against Bdenhawk recorded
He's a good Falco, a bit better than me

I teched everything
Four dairs at 100%
Dsmash
ftilt
Even a Fsmash

It was good payback for my horrible performance in friendlies lol
It was good stuff, I learned a lot about approaching and traps and set ups and I feel like I got a lot better mental gameplay wise
Which is what I needed help on the most.

I still have issues dealing with super hardcore pressure games
But that'll come, in time I suppose.

Moral of the story
Don't go into a tournament with a controller who's cstick doesn't work
It still sucks

My controller is perfect. And it will be more perfect cause me and my friends are going to construct wooden controllers..eventually, we have the tools, it's just going to be almost impossible haha
