Oh, I should also probably mention that Selena Gomez is one of the artists I have to hide, because of the exact song I put up for rating. (Rock God) Did you even listen to it? Or just judge it based on who sang it. If you read the lyrics you can easily see why I have to hide it.
And so what if I'm 16 and happen to like her music? It's not your problem... >.>

Lyrics
"Rock God"
(feat. Katy Perry)

Preacher man walked into the club and he said
He said, hey girl can't you walk and not stray?
Father I'm torn and I'm selling my soul to the
Rhythm, the beat and the bass
Cause I can't confess my rock and roll ways
Cause I'm so possessed with the music
The music he plays

I can't stop my feet from dancing
To the sound of his drum
Oh no, I fell in love with my rock god
I can't keep my hips from swaying
To his sweet melody, you see
I fell in love with my rock, rock god

Preacher man took my hand and looked in my eyes
He said, hey girl can't you live your life right
Father things aren't always so black and white
Don't cast the first stone cause I'm not alone
And it's not like I'm hurting anyone
But I can't confess my rock, my rock and roll ways

I can't stop my feet from dancing
To the sound of his drum
Oh no, I fell in love with my rock god
I can't keep my hips from swaying
To his sweet melody, you see
I fell in love with my rock, rock god

I can't stop my feet from dancing
To the sound of his drum
Oh no, I fell in love with my rock god
I can't keep my hips from swaying
To his sweet melody, you see
I fell in love with my rock, rock god

No, I wouldn't change a thing even if I could
Cuz' I chose a path and I'm not looking back
And I'm sorry if I left the angels crying over me

I can't stop my feet from dancing
To the sound of his drum
Oh no, I fell in love with my rock god
I can't keep my hips from swaying
To his sweet melody, you see
I fell in love with my rock, rock god

Preacher man, preacher man
Preacher man, preacher man
(Forgive me but I don't know what I do)
Preacher man, preacher man
(Preacher man, why don't you understand)
Preacher man, preacher man

Cause I'm gone, gone, gone, gone, gone, gone
(Have you ever felt this way, have you ever ever never, felt this way)
Yeah I'm gone, gone, gone
With my rock, rock god

Do you REALLY want to know why?

I live in an extremely conservative religious family, and my parents have to approve the music I listen to. I often have to hide most of my interests, and I wasn't allowed to listen to "secular" music until I was 14. My musical taste hasn't really matured as much as it probably should have, because I'm still sort of catching up on everything I missed I guess.

There, now you know. You don't have to be rude about it.

This is also one of the reason I came to this thread, so I could listen to music other people like and expand my interests. (Even if I do have to hide it)
How conservative is your family? What type of music can't you listen to? You can always try to find songs that have good lyrics or just instrumental, unless you can't listen to that too.

As you My Bloody Valentine, I think I need to get in a Radiohead mood for that lol. Other than that, pretty cool song albeit not something I would listen to so much. 3/5

I REALLY liked this song. The piano intro is great, and the part where all the instruments come in is also amazing. However, I feel as though there's something bugging me about it, so I'll have to rate it a 4.8/5. Still great.

Well, I'll admit, I was kinda impressed! VERY catchy and fun!

Radiohead - Let Down
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-cjRAY0yH4
Lyrically still my favorite Radiohead song or at least one of my favorites. Musically it's kind of...depressing. Back in the day when I first discovered OKC, this was the one song that just took forever to click with me. It was just boring for the longest time but eventually it just fell into place and the final verse and chorus with all the vocal harmonies damn near makes me cry.

I also love the polyrhythms in the interlude with the ridiculous 7/8 guitar noodles over the 4/4 rhythm.

But really, it's mostly the lyrics that get me.

Umm the video was very new age and had stuff in it that i didn't agree with, but the song wasn't bad. I liked how the screaming wasn't overly loud and aggressive. I really liked the music.

Muse - Uprising
(I literally just fell in love with this band 10 mins ago)
Muse is one of my favorite bands of all time lol. This song isn't one of my favorite songs, but still pretty good. It sets the tone for the rest of the album, but it gets tiring after listening to this song so many times.

where have I heard this guy's name before...
*google*
oh ok he ****s with OF

The beat is like the end of a big crescendo that feels like it'll resolve but it just keeps repeating (except for the few times it actually resolves), which it's cool cuz it kind of keeps tension on the song, which is also cool because it's an almost positive sounding little repetition. positive tension, there ya go
Super short, and it ends kind of abruptly, but I enjoyed it while it lasted. He's got a pretty normal voice :/

I quite dig this. The sitar/banjo(?) lead is inviting and the rock bass groove under it is a great fit. Reminds me of a Modest Mouse song without vocals.

Unfortunately there's really not much else I can really say, but I really enjoyed this song.

I'm sorry, but once those vocals came in, I started bursting into a fit of uncontrollable laughter. Just such a funny contrast to the "happy" feel of the rest of the song. Eventually got better, though.

Aside from that, the song was pretty good. I liked the general indie rock feel of the song, as well as the guitars. The music video was pretty cool, too.

Well, for starters, I like the album cover lol.

Well it starts off a bit in my head like "Oh great, another metal song to review." But at least this group decided to change some things up in terms of progression. Like the hiccups around the 50 second mark. I was sort of bothered by the fact that there is no lyrics to read off of, cause from what I could gather, they did seem to have some depth to them.

I thought the best part of the song came towards the 3 and half minute part where things slowed down. Convenient how it's also the part that I can understand the most.

Overall, I might be feeling a bit burned out on metal songs. I'm sure it's good to those who listen to this genre but for me...

the guy's voice annoys me a little, but it is a nice little tune, albeit repetitive. it is a nice feel good song, i like the bells or whatever in the background, as well as the piano. the lyrics arent anything special, but they fit.

:urg::ohwell:[:)]:bee::awesome:

i could see this song growing on me. for now though, it gets a good but underwhelming score of 3/5.

lovely production in the beginning. R Kelly is alright on this track. I don't really like the modulation on his voice. I really like the way this beat takes its time to build up and really get into things. Very big and epic sounding.

Ye kills it. Sure it's dumb vapid new Kanye lyrically speaking, but its fun and hype. except "****ting on you, holy crap". what a corny line.

basically this song is all about the beat and it's a really really good one. if everything else was on par with the beat this would be a new classic.

Wow that was... very... dark. It was good for what it was, and for people who like this it's probably very good, but for me, it was way too dark and weird for my taste. Also, there was a lot of cussing in it that I didn't like.

Alex Clare - Too Close
(You've probably heard this before)
Stupid Microsoft commercial had to go and make this song a big deal. I'm actually fine with this song until the chorus kicks and from what I feel is unnecessary dubstep starts. Especially when I'm listening to these with my headphones, his voice just gets overshadowed by the wub wub. Really though, I like his singing, I like his lyrics, I like the verses, but it's just the chorus...which is meant to be your main attraction that irks me to hell. The more I listen to it, the less I like.

I liked the intro, then wasn't really feelin the drums, then I kinda just completely lost interest. I'm sure this would be better with some sharper sound quality, and in it's original context with some visuals of fast break dunks and shiz. 2009-2010. Is that the year Lebron gave up vs. Boston? Ya mad inspirational.

It was okay. Song on its own. 2.5/5

i love this nashville country sound so i'm really enjoying this.

lyrics are ok. didn't pay a whole lot of attention to them to be honest. i'm more interested in the singing itself.

Not bad! Lol, at first I kept waiting for the singing to start, then read the description "Maybeshewill are an instrumental rock band" and was like, oh. Love the way the guitar and piano went together, the talking during some parts was also interesting, and it didn't feel out of place. Amazing. I listened to the entire song.

Lights - Suspension
Hm, I honestly don't know how to describe this song. However, I will give it props in being catchy, appealing, and the way she goes about singing this song is well done. She follows the beat really well. What I like a lot about this song is that you can put it into so many categories of when you wanna listen to it. In the car (night or day), on the computer, something to relax with, etc.

I'm not gonna call it dubstep, cause it's not, but I'm getting tired of artists borrowing "elements" these days. Mainly it appears towards the end of the song. It's much more tolerable though, and no where near as bad. I like her. I really do. I'll even admit I am partial to female singers for whatever reason, but I can dig her.

really loved this. one of those songs that can change your mood. the mood of course being, tranquility. i'm assuming your friend made the beat and sort of remixed the vocals? i've never actually heard the original song, but this remix is wonderful. i would gladly listen to more of your friend's mixes.

:urg::ohwell::):bee:[:awesome:]

it sounds so linkin park, as if they made it themselves. the fact that your friend was able to hit that sound on the head, but still create something original is awesome. i could imagine this song in the middle of one of their albums, in between some really heavy songs, and it would just be perfect.

The problem with such heavy heavy production in pop is like... anyone can do it, so it would have been nice for anything in the song to have her stand out more. this song could be by anyone.

Sexy intro! These drums kick. also love the soaking wet guitar tone. reminds me of a Beatles song with the vocals.

so chill i feel like i'm melting into my chair. these vocals are TOO Beatles-esque for me though. someone really wants to sound like John Lennon

I love the little interludes with the reverb-drenched singing and phased guitars.

honestly though this is a really great song. Perfectly relaxing and spacey but interesting to listen to actively listen to as well. I'm definitely interested in this band.

I used to hate that song i posted, but after listening to it 15 times or maybe even more, I started to like it and now its one of my favorite songs. Its probably my 3rd to favorite. idk why I said 2nd.

For your song, I give it a 5/10. I liked the lyrics and drum beat but the background vocals and bell sound annoyed me. Im not good at writing reviews.

This song is Maybe by Kelly Clarkson. I love the lyrics in this song.

i'd imagine my first verse was what threw you off the first few listens, i tried a write a little different and come at it "off beat". it sounded better in the planning stages than the final product (i still like how it came out), my 2nd verse (the 3rd verse overall) is how i usually come at tracks and it's how my flow will continue to be in the future.

i appreciate the kind words and the fact that you gave it multiple listens, thanks man.
