Good idea. However, the f-throw NEEDS to change. It only lists punching the opponent forward.
There are going to be a lot of changes made regarding individual moves, that being one of them. And in case you didn't notice, I changed her Fsmash before. Like I said, this moveset will undergo a lot of change before I'll call it "done."

From last episode, you may remember that Chris Lionheart was burried alive!! O NOEZ!! He was then saved by a mysterious stranger....'twas none other than SMASHBOT!!! Why? Smashbot owed his daughter's life to Chris Lionheart by helping her through a mysterious disease! Smashbot learned of Josh's plot through a drunk TWILGHTHERO! Yet, what happened to TWILIGHTHERO....?

(I just choose random names and sterotypical soap opera problems. If you don't want to be in this, just say so.)

Besides, you, and only you, have control over your moveset. Remember that. Warlord and Mendez and Sirkibble and all the other reviewers are merely trying to help you by suggesting improvements. However, you are not required to follow their direction, and can choose not to.

I was thinking, 3.0 shouldnt be done, but shouldnt we atleast eliminate a few? I mean if we keep going at this rate, when the thread is over, voting will be an extreme hassle.
How exactly do you propose we "eliminate" them?

thats the main reason i want this vote, its unfair towards the movesets that were posted early, at this rate we wont really remember most of the movesets in the end unless you really feel like going through what will in the end probably be over 1000 movesets

Although I don't think elimination is a solution, I agree that this is going to be a serious problem. The only thing I can really think of is ending the contest early, which isn't a great solution, but...

After a long rest from his adventuring days with Mario, Mallow, the Prince of Clouds, joins the brawl!


--Bio--

As a young child, Mallow was separated from his parents, the King and Queen of Nimbus Land (the city above the clouds). He was discovered by Frogfucius, who served as his grandfather. Raised among the tadpoles, Mallow ran various errands for Frogfucius once he came of age.
One day, when Mallow was running an errand in the Mushroom Kingdom, a purple alligator named Croco stole his frog coin with which he had come to trade. After chasing him around futilely for a while, Mallow plops down and “has a good cry.” Mario comforts him (having just so happened to be in the area), and from that point on he is a respected mage in Mario’s group.
Meanwhile, back in Nimbus Land, Valentina has usurped the throne from Mallow’s mother and father. She has her slave, an overweight crow named “Dodo”, pose as Mallow, so that she can be Queen. Naturally, when Mario and Co. reach this point, Mallow is somewhat ticked. Quick summary: Mario and his teammates defeat Valentina and Dodo, and Mallow and his family retake their rightful places on the throne.


Height- A whole head shorter than Mario.
Jump- Much improved from the early days, when jumping up a simple ledge was deemed impossible. Then again, characters such as Ness, Marth, or Link never could jump… Nevermind. Mallow has three multi jumps, each of average height.
Fall Speed- Very slow, somewhere between Jiggs and Wario. (visual: Falls at around a 35% angle, making recovery a breeze. No pun intended.)
Power- Comparatively low, but his unique ability to cancel his opponent’s trajectory mid-stride may lead to some damage racking combos.
Speed- This is one of Mallow’s hangups. Despite being Prince of the clouds, he was raised by tadpoles most of his life, so has had little experience with running. Mallow is a med-slow runner; which is still impressive for his stubby legs.
Friction- A non-issue. Due to his slow top speed, he has the added bonus of very infrequent tripping, similar to the Ice Climbers. However, he is still affected by ice like normal.
Hit-Stun- As Mallow his three weapons at his disposal (his Cymbals, the Froggiestick, and his bare fists) his hit-stun varies. As a general rule, the cymbals have the highest hit-stun, his fists set up for specific moves, and his Froggiestick is simply quick, with very little stun.

--A quick notice about Mallow--
Mallow brings in a feature from Super Mario RPG… Timed hits. Most of his tilts and smashes have an after-attack, which you can use to deal extra damage, or even stop your opponent mid-launch!

--Moveset--

--Standards--

-A
Mallow’s unarmed attack from SMRPG, he does a punch with his right fist. However, his arm extends far beyond where you would expect, to about another body length in front of him. 3% damage, and sets up for…
--AA
…a second punch with his left arm. This one has a little bit more range, another fist length ahead of the first part. However, you may instead want to shift from his ‘A’ directly into his grab, as it sets up for it. 4% damage, extremely small knockback. The only conceivable way to KO with this is if you are giant, your opponent is small from a mini-mushroom and a lightning bolt, and is Paper Mario.

-Dash attack
Mallow quickly trips flat on his face. He is extremely vulnerable after falling. 5% damage, low knockback.

-"Tech" attack (below 100%)
Mallow will spin on his side once, his Froggiestick extended in the hand of the direction he is facing. After the spin, he uses the momentum to make it to his feet. This attack has a hitbox on the Froggiestick, which will do a mere 5% damage and small knockback, allowing him to stand up.

-"Tech" attack (above 100%)
Mallow will use his cymbals to pull him to his feet, slamming one, then the other, against the ground and pushing himself up. Each hit with the cymbals will cause 7% damage, and medium horizontal knockback to those hit by it.
--Tilts--
-Ftilt
Swings his Froggiestick (a small, one-hand staff) over his head, towards the ground. This first strike does 6% damage, and knocks opponents far enough away to NOT be hit by the second phase. This attack could be used as simply a quick attack, or as a fakeout leading to the second part.
-Timed Hit
After the Froggiestick hits the ground, press ‘A’ again to swing a second time. Mallow pulls up his staff (doing 2% damage and slight vertical knockback in the process) then does the exact same swing that he did the first time, but faster, and with a menacing look in his eye. 8% damage, mid-power spike. Fun to use on opponents coming up through a fall through platform. ^_^

-Dtilt
Swings his Froggiestick directly across the ground. 5% damage. Low knockback, but kills at over 500%. (in other words, fat chance.)
-Timed Hit
Once the Froggiestick passes the point where it hits the opponent, press ‘A’ again and he will swing it back, doing 7% and med-low knockback.

-UTilt
Very similar to the Ice Climbers’ Utilt, Mallow spins the Froggiestick in the air. The attack has 5 consecutive hits, doing 2%, 1%, 2%, 1%, 2%, for 8% if you hit with all 5. The 2%’s knocks opponents in the opposite direction Mallow is facing, the 1%’s knock in the way he is facing. Like his DTilt, you would be hard pressed to KO with this move.

--Smashes--

-FSmash
Mallow pulls out his cymbals (yes, cymbals) and clashes them together in front of him. 12% uncharged, 14% charged. This attack is his quickest smash, so it only does med-high knockback. Regardless, an effective finishing move.
-Timed Hit
Pressing ‘A’ when the cymbals clash together (within 5 frames before, 5 frames after) will release short-range lightning bolt-like shockwaves that will stun the opponent and cancel their trajectory. The shockwaves do 2% damage, just for the record.

-USmash
Once again, Mallow uses his cymbals to do the job. This time, he clashes them above his head. 13% uncharged, 16% charged. This is his strongest smash, and is noticeably slower than his Fsmash.
-Timed Hit
Same as his FSmash, pressing ‘A’ within 10 frames of the cymbals hitting eachother will release short range shockwaves that stop the opponent mid-air. 2% damage.
Now, do not begin to complain that this move would lead to infinite comboing. Your opponents would recover from the paralyze effect far before you had the chance to smash them again. The same goes for his FSmash.

-DSmash
A bit different from his other two smashes. This time, Mallow hold the cymbals above his head, the large sides facing outwards. Then, he slams them into the ground. The attack does 10% damage uncharged, 12% charged, and med-high horizontal knockback. One of the major plusses of this move is its ridiculous hitbox…hits both sides of him a whole character length, and also hits mid-air!
-Timed Hit
When the cymbals hit the ground, press ‘A’ to release Final Cutter (Kirby’s B-up to you n00bs) like shockwaves on either side. These are half the size and have very small range compared to the original version, but Mallow is left vulnerable above. Shockwaves do 3% damage, and enough stun to allow Mallow to recover without being punished.

--Aerials--
-Nair
Punches out to either side of himself. Each punch has equal range as that of his A-standard. 4% damage, minimal knockback. You may be wondering: “What’s the point???” Answer: High priority, but not to a broken extent.

-Fair
Pulls out his cymbals and clashes the together in front of him. By rotating the control stick to the up or down position, you can aim the direction that he attacks. Maximum alteration is 45o up or down. 8% damage, moderate knockback.

-Uair
Basic appearance as his Utilt. This time, the Froggiestick serves as a bludgeoning weapon instead of inflicting multiple hits. 6% damage, mid-low knockback.

-Dair

Mallow swings his Froggiestick downward. It has a med-low meteor smash affect, but leaves Mallow very vulnerable, the initial, spiking attack does 7% damage, but if you are hit after the initial swing, 2% damage and minor vertical knockback are suffered.


-Bair

This is Mallow’s most powerful aerial attack. He takes out a single cymbal and slices- slices, not slams- it behind him. It sounds like the classic “Sword attack” when it hits, that all-powerful Link Dair sound effect. Med-high knockback, and 10% damage. This attack has noticeable startup lag.

--Grabs--


-Grab
Reaches out with both arms. Has ¾ the range of his standard combo’s reach. If he misses, then his arms flop to the ground dejectedly, leaving him vulnerable.

-Dashgrab
Reaches out with his left arm. While he still has momentum, he hops on his left foot, attempting to maintain his balance. If he missed, he clenches his fist.

-Pummel
Smacks his head into the opponent. 2% damage.

-Fthrow
Spins 360o and throws his opponent, just like Mario. 6% damage, med knockback. (no, not all of the throws will be clones.)

-BThrow
Spins 180o and throws his opponent. 5% damage, med-low knockback. (Hang in there, originality is just above the horizon)

-UThrow
Mallow jumps up in the air holding his opponent, then spins towards the screen in mid-air and hurls his opponent upward. 8%, high knockback.

-DThrow
Same wind up as his UThrow, but he Throws his opponents down at the ground WITHOUT letting go of them. They rubberband back, above his head, and THEN are thrown down at a much faster speed. 10% damage, med-high knockback.

--Specials--
I would like to start off this section by saying that no, not all of his specials are ripped directly from the game. Get over it.

-B: Northern Wind
This is Mallow’s short-range(half a body length radius directly around him) anti-air attack.
It is a charged move, that takes a whole 8 seconds to fully charged, but the end result is worth it. It pushed opponents away incredible distances without damaging them, becoming an incredible edgeguarding move!


-Charge Stance
Mallow sits down, and begins to meditate.

0-2 seconds
Attack does ridiculously minor knockback.
3-4 seconds
Pushes opponents one stagebuilder block away.
5-6 seconds
Pushes opponents two stagebuilder blocks away.
7-8 seconds
Pushes opponents FOUR stagebuilder blocks away.

Mallow also has super armor during the initial activation frames of the move. This move CANNOT be charged midair, as using it discards all charge previously collected.

-B>:HP Rain
This move has a much different effect than it did in SMRPG. The initial phase consists of controlling a glowing blue orb to a location of your choice(essentially, exactly like Zelda’s B> initial phase). After you release B, the orb implodes, and a cloud with a goofy face http://i513.photobucket.com/albums/t337/agidius/cloud.png appears. The cloud then rains down on the opponents. On the ground, this may seem to serve no useful purpose, but if the rain encounters the opponent mid-air, it will greatly increase their falling speed and jumping height. Only one cloud can exist at a time, and clouds disappear after .5-2 seconds, depending on distance from Mallow. (farther = longer.)

-B^: Sky Troopa
Mallow whistles (quite high pitched, actually), and a Sky Troopa (a red Paratroopa to you n00bs, a red turtle with wings to you epic n00bs) flies beneath Mallow from the background, and carries him upwards. This attack does no damage.

-Bv: Thunderbolt
A large thunderbolt (lightning for those of you who are very picky) comes down from the sky (actually, about 10 character heights above him). When it hits the ground, it spreads across the ground a little bit (about the length of Mallow’s body. Man, I’m getting tired of these “character length” comparisons… this is the last one.) The main bolt does 10% damage, the grounded bolt does 5%, with a small stun effect.

--Final Smash--

-Star Rain
Before someone says it, no, this is not a clone of PK Starstorm. Honestly.
Mallow reaches his hands up into the air, and dark clouds form at the top of the screen above him. Then, a very large Starman-style star falls from the sky towards Mallow. It bounces once… it bounces twice… then it bounces one last time and flies back into the sky. Damage: The initial falling motion of the star has a meteor smash effect that knocks opponents into the full Final Smash, and does 16% on its own. The landing of the star on the bounces causes opponents to be embedded in the ground, like they were hit by a pitfall, and does 12% each time. When the star takes off, pulls opponents up with it, and does high vertical knockback, with 14% damage. Total damage taken from Final Smash: 54%. If the star does NOT land on the ground, it simply falls to its doom, essentially wasting the final smash. You can use it cleverly to meteor smash your opponents off the ledge. And, of course, Mallow is invulnerable during the whole thing.

1: Identical to his UTaunt, the peace sign.
2: Does a double somersault towards the front of the screen, then begins juggling three frog coins.


--Otacon Conversation--

Snake: Mei Ling, I’m fighting what appears to be… a pale Kirby with pants.
Mei Ling: You just never learn, do you Snake?
Snake:(that growling sound that he is so famous for)
Mei Ling: That little "puffball" is actually Mallow, Prince of the Clouds. As an orphan, he was abandoned by his parents. Frogfucious, the sage of Tadpole Pond, raised him as his own grandson. When Mario came across him, he was quite weak. But after fighting with Mario for a time, he developed powerful magic abilities.
Snake: …right. So basically, he’s Kirby with magic. Thanks, Mei Ling. -hangs up-
Mei Ling: N-n-no, Snake… you don’t understand… -hangs up-

--Subspace Emissary--


Mallow is teamed up with Pit from the very beginning; they run Skyworld as a duo. During the scene where they are watching the battle between Kirby and Mario, Mallow has a “Kirby #1” pink foam finger.
At the point where Pit encounters the unconscious Mario, Mallow suddenly has a black-and-white flashback to his first meeting with him. (see Bio) Mallow revives Mario, and he introduces him to Pit, while the camera zooms out. In the foreground, we see a shadowed figure hiding behind a pillar… who could it be?


Ch. 2 - The Forest Maze

After clearing the first part of the Skyworld (the part directly after you unlock Mario) You see Mario, Mallow, and Pit sprinting across the clouds for all they are worth. Something catches Mallow’s attention through the clouds, and he motions for Mario and Pit to stop. He points down through a break in the clouds, and you see a large, dense forest with randomly scattered clearings inside. The trio then jumps through the clouds.
When they land, they are in a large clearing… and they see the same shadowy figure dart through an opening in the brush. Mallow points towards the figure, Mario does a quick double-take, Pit looks confused, and that is where you choose your character.
The level consists of going through 8 different stages, each of which is connected with four others. Your goal is to get to stage 9. The stages do not differ in appearance. Each stage is, essentially, a large scale grounded battlefield. On each floating platform, and in the center of the stage, is a door. Each door leads to a different room. The following chart gives the numbers that each room is linked to:

Stage 1: 2, 4, 6, 7
Stage 2: 1, 3, 5, 8
Stage 3: 2, 4, 6, 9
Stage 4: 1, 3, 5, 7
Stage 5: 2, 4, 6, 8
Stage 6: 1, 3, 5, 7
Stage 7: 1, 4, 6, 8
Stage 8: 2, 3, 7, 5

The first number is the upper platform, second left, third right, and last bottom. It is possible to get out of the maze in three moves.
Unfortunately, it is not as simple as that. In your way are 3-4 Buzzers and Guerillas.


-Buzzer: 21 HP

Attack: Drill Rush
Rushes at you with its stinger. Being hit will result in multiple consecutive hits, causing 16% damage.


-Guerilla: 42 HP

Attack: Chain Swing
Throws its giant, metal ball at you, then pulls it back. 20% damage, huge knockback. Do NOT get hit by this. It is very slow, and telegraphed well before the actual attack.


Defeating all the enemies will result in one of two item boxes being dropped: A box with a trophy or three stickers, or a box with two maxim tomatoes.

Once you get to room 9, the game skips to another cutscene. In it, you finally catch up to your mysterious shadowed opponent… Bowyer. (yes, I did spell that right.) You see him from the back first, and he is firing massive amounts of arrows up into the heavens. Mallow is, plainly, outraged, and begins to throw… rocks at him. Bowyer turns around, laughs, then turns back and continues firing arrows. Mario swings his fist in Bowyer’s general direction, and Pit fires his arrow directly into one of Bowyer’s shattering it in two. (during the moment of the arrow shattering, the camera runs in slow motion)
At this Bowyer turns around, enraged, and rushes towards you. You choose your order of characters, and the battle begins.

Bowyer is quite unlike other bosses in the subspace emissary. Every 20 seconds of the battle, time will stop, and Bowyer will fire an arrow up into the air. That arrow will then land on one of three buttons in the foreground… a green button that says “attack”, a red button that says “special” or a grey button that says “shield”. That button will then be unusable until the next arrow is fired. Normal fighting progresses like so:

-Bowyer: 250 HP

ATTACK 1: Fires three arrows towards the center of the screen. Each of them does 10% damage, and low knockback.
ATTACK 2: Fires a plethora of arrows up into the air. Shadows come down where each one is going to land, so you can dodge them. These arrows do 15% damage, and high, vertical knockback.
ATTACK 3: Pulls out a single arrow and swipes in front of him, like with a sword. 18% damage, high knockback.


Finishing the battle will cause Bowyer to fall back into the Subspace from whence he came, and the chapter ends with the trio celebrating over their victory.

After defeating Bowyer, he is unlocked as an assist trophy. His only effect is that of canceling your usable moves, he has no direct conflict with the battlefield. Arrows are fires ever 10 seconds, as opposed to 20.

I'm back. Mallow looks decently good, eager to see it finished.

@Smashbot's SSE: Nice. 2 levels seems short for a chapter though. Cervantes seems to be one of the main antagonists and was introdued extremely early on right after Dracula. . .Perhaps a statement as to how the quality of the movesets compare? In any clase, glad that dread pirate seems to have a good role and it looks good.

@Bkupa's SSE: Knowing your writing skills, I expect good things to come from this one. Requests: Cervantes > Voldo > Nightmare. Use my K. Rool if you don't want to use your own, but K. Rool NEEDS to be included.

I'll get something figured out. I think a good idea would be to kind of raise the bar for a moveset. Kind of like elimination, but not really. Like, Fierce Diety Link and SmashBrosMike Ridley would be eliminated. We could kind of crop out what we don't need until we have enough to make a decent vote.

Like, Fierce Diety Link and SmashBrosMike Ridley would be eliminated. We could kind of crop out what we don't need until we have enough to make a decent vote.
I thought this would be a no brainer TBH.

HOW DARE YOU BLASPHEME THE GODS? FIERECE DIETY LINK IS THE BEST MOVESET EVER!!!!!!!!!

I suppose that would help to a certain extent, and frankly, I don't see what else can be done, so yeah.

Mallow looks very interesting indeed. Incorporating Timed Hits makes him pretty unique. More comments to come.

I'm putting off moveset making for now in favor of moar "Days of Tabuu."

hey yo, subspace story guy, smashbot...if you think they are good enough, id ask if you could put Pokey in as a villian and Servbot as a Neutral. if you think the movesets arnt good then you shouldnt put them in though.

Just rated pages 36-40. Lots of good movesets, particularly Smashbot 226, Shinon, and King Arthur (Monty Python).

Apparently I had created a bandwagon of self named characters that are really OC's. :psycho:

Just rated pages 36-40. Lots of good movesets, particularly Smashbot 226, Shinon, and King Arthur (Monty Python).

Apparently I had created a bandwagon of self named characters that are really OC's. :psycho:

Sometimes my # buttons f*ck up and won't do what I want. The percentages have been fixed.

hey yo, subspace story guy, smashbot...if you think they are good enough, id ask if you could put Pokey in as a villian and Servbot as a Neutral. if you think the movesets arnt good then you shouldnt put them in though.

Prologue?
Starring: Fierce deity link, Psycho Mantis, Lavos

Fierce deity link goes to attack. His target is in sight: Psycho Mantis. He uses "jump sideways with sword" to approach him, and then "slashes sword and lets out a wave". He is hit. In desperation, psycho mantis changes the game settings to single button mode. Fierce deity link is trapped. He has no A moves. Psycho mantis begins to summon Lavos. Fierce deity link would scream for help, but since he has no personality, he is trapped on his lonesome. He tries in desperation to find a move.

But the future refused to change.
