@cyberglitch: that's a ridiculous number of groupings. I base my CSSes the same (but not to the same extent), so i can appreciate that. However, the majority of people will probably just see a jumbled mess, even after you explain it all. It's just about impossible to rearrange anything, because for every grouping you create, you destroy three.

lol what you didnt mention in the second pic is that, unhighlighted, the two captains are together

also, i stole your idea of rearranging a previous photo to preview what a new css would look like
which code contains FADEF00D?

@hdt: i like the idea, but i'dlook better if you put sheik directly under zelda and moved gdorf and tl down. Same with zss going between samus and pit

@timothy: The CSS Fix for Samus/ZSS and Zelda/Shiek prevents you from being able to pick Sheik if the slot is Zelda. I know - I tried the same thing. Adding independent Zelda is purely a cosmetic change, with or without it you can't start off as sheik by picking the Zelda icon if you have the CSS Fix

cyberglitch, amazing CSS, I'm using it now lol. One thing that's interesting is that you put Zelda above Link, even though she's definitely better, he's still the main character lol (even though her name is in the title of the games lolol). Also about Link and Ganondorf sharing TP styles, nice idea, but Zelda (and even Sheik!) have been Twilight Princess-ized as well in Brawl. But I'm just nitpickin, it's much more obvious for Link and Ganondorf, since Zelda's wearin that robe most of the game and Sheik's not even in it, lolol.

But yeah, great CSS

An annoying glitch I found was sometimes on Wi-FI some parts of the CSS are unusable. If I had selected a character on the part of the CSS that is unusable, I can't pick him. It fixes itself sometimes but I have no idea why it happens. It seems to usually happen while I'm online with my sister.

Are you using the latest hitbox mod engine code? previous versions were messing with the CSS codes (dont ask me why). Im not sure if the problems have been fixed, though.

Also, that looks like a code that'll be really annoying to customize...
I noticed it's happening everywhere. The only codes I have on are infinite replay, unrestricted camera, copy submit data, unrestricted costumes, online multiplayer, custom SSS, custom music, custom CSS, and tags in replays. I had no Brawl+ codes on at that point.

Bug with the CSS code:

Blank boxes are used, randomly on some matches we have a row or area on the character select screen which are not selectable and cannot be selected until the system is reboot. The CSS we have (made by Yeroc and I) looks great, but this bug really limits our creative ability with it.

That goes against my whole idea of making it =P

If I were going to move those character then I would have moved a couple other ones as well. The point of this one is to be identical to the non-modded CSS except with the bonus characters, so it's really like you didn't change anything at all.

That reminds me of the periodic table of elements. Superficially I could think of nicer looking ways of laying out your CSS (like having MK, DDD, and Kirby occupy the top three slots and have Lucas and Ness be side by side for the Hal characters etc), but not without disrupting all of the grouping you've managed to do. Congratulations, I never would have thought that much about the CSS.

And you need to add CAFEBABE to your sig.
Yes, that'd interrupt the grouping of heavy characters, as well as tethers, and multi-jumpers, as well as a personal preference to keep the Mother characters next to the IC because they have the same eyes, hahaha. I can finally label this version a success? A perfectly organized CSS via logic.

And I was thinking just the same for the sig...done!

Jumbled mess or not, the real purpose I have for this is so that I can easily say to new or casual players "the guys over here are swordsmen, the guys over here can jump multiple times, these guys can jump multiple times AND are swordsmen" etc. It also should make it easier to find characters, and to find characters similar in playstyle to the ones you love.

As for the Captains...I never intended this...but now seeing it I realize that it is THE MOST IMPORTANT GROUPING OF ANY BRAWL CSS. Awesome...this means that everything has sensible grouping.

You know, I don't quite remember the origin of FADEFOOD. I think it was from an old buffer code.

I found it very important to keep all the heavy characters at the bottom of the columns, this includes Ike, so to group the swordsmen together Link has to be at the bottom. This also allows the females to be grouped. I wouldn't say being at the top means superiority...you sexist ;-)

I'm glad someone is using it. I'm having a (slight) affect on the world!

Here's my personal one. Mostly similar to the vanilla one with some minor changes. The 3 slots for the pokemon are for the Independent versions, so that warrants the Trainer still being there.

ROB is grouped with Starfox because of ROB64. Will probably swap Ice Climbers with Falcon though, grouping the 8-bit characters with the 3rd party characters.

And yes (before it gets pointed out), Zelda and Sheik are a single slot. I personally don't find it necessary to have both since they are interchangable, which is different to the pokemon since they're independent and can't swap out.


Please excuse me if I'm using outdated, unnecessary or redundant codes. I haven't been keeping track of everything and have just been using the Plussery set since I couldn't be bothered adding to it. With them not using independent pokemon codes, I wasn't sure of compatibility with the hitbox and frame speed codes.

Also does anyone know if there will ever be a fix to prevent the character counter from sliding to Samus from ZSS after a match is over? Any plans to do this on a late summer's night Spunit?

Very minor of course, but every bit counts to make things look polished.

Then why does it keep crashing?

It freezes a lot without the 2nd code. I am working on a CSS screen for Brawl+ that has a giant smily face in the middle of it (you will see when it is done).

I'm liking the vertical groupings CSS, but the horizontal groupings just end up being too scattered and spread out to be any good (no fault of your own, horizontal groupings in general should just be avoided).
