Before we start...THE GUIDE ON HOW TO USE TEXTURES IS LOCATED ON THE SECOND POST OF THIS TOPIC by Falco400. This explains how to use character and stage textures. For strap menu textures, put them in .../pf/menu/strap/ and call it StrapEn.pac

Introduction
For anyone who wanted all the texture websites in one easy, accessible place, here we are. You can recommend certain websites or show your collections for me to put in the OP. No more switching back and forth through threads to find the right website, here is a convenient list! A strikethrough indicates the website is currently dead. Please tell me if they have moved!

Firstly...

Brawl Vault: the web's largest collection of smash hacks!

The Big Sites
These are the biggest and most useful texture databases on the internet.

Kitty Corp: MeowMix
Forums | BrawlVault | YouTube Channel
Two cats, one goal. Two of the largest Brawl texture websites on the internet have joined together, creating the largest site yet! Collaboratively containing a huge percentage of the most widely downloaded textures, this should be your number one stop for texture hunting. The Roster and massive Texture Gallery are full of goodness, with downloads in plain sight. Most of their creations are located in BrawlVault.

Elite Smash Hackers
Downloads
Although it may not look it at first glance, this place has a LOAD of textures. It comes NUMBER TWO out of the most popular texture sites. Clicking "The Roster" and "Stages" will get you previews, check the creator of the one you like, and find his collection in the "downloads" link I have above. Most of their creations can be located within BrawlVault.

Stack Smash
Downloads
As big as Kitty Corp, SS was the largest site for texture hacks before the merger of KittyCorp: MeowMix. Their rate of updates have slowed, but their quality has not. Follow the link above and click "The Roster", "The Battlefields", or "Weaponry and Support" to view their textures. When you find one you like, go to downloads and find the file that matches with the picture. They are also supporters of BrawlVault - so you'll find their newer stuff there.

The Mid Sites
While not a gargantuan as some of the sites above, these sites still have plenty of quality content.

Das Donkey Team
Das Donkey creates what I like to call the "gourmet" textures. They are stunning and extremely detailed. They don't update often at all. You'll find their creations located within BrawlVault as well.

Dairantou Glitchforce, or DGF, is large, has a big team, and is generally pretty well-known (don't ask me how I hadn't heard of it). Some of their textures aren't that impressive IMO, but they make up with tons of other ones, and almost every other type of file replacement hack out there, including music! They are consistently updating and taking requests, so check them out.

That's right. It's the Smash Enigmas. Although I really don't understand their name, they have a quickly expanding variety of high-quality character and stage textures. Some of the entries just aren't available to download any of them yet, and according to their Q&A, some of them never will be. :(

Nintendo Bros.
(Defunct)
This site has gone from small to large, with quite a few quality item, character, and stage textures. All the downloads can be found in their updates.

The Small Sites
These small websites are home to smaller texture teams.

The Mugiwara Kaizoku
If you can understand the title, by all means visit this site: it's full of creative anime textures. All downloads can be found on the roster page.

Galaxia Darkness
Galaxia Darkness is well stocked with music, characters, stages, and even attack hacks galore! This is complemented by a well-organized downloads page where ALL of their textures can be found.

Legendary Smash Team
Legendary Smash Team is currently very small, sporting a very small amount of textures and no downloads. However, these textures a very nice, so stay tuned for more (and downloads)!

Electronic Core
Electronic Core is well stocked with cool textures, and its growing team is continually updating as we speak. Browse through the Roster or Main page to find a texture you like, and you'll find a link waiting for you on the Downloads page.

Smashers Inc.

Larger than meets the eye, Smashers Inc. is full of some pretty cool textures. Check the creator of the texture you want, and you can find their collection on the downloads page.

Br4wlBreakers
Br4wlBreakers is usual texture site, many of their projects are still in production. Head to the "Downloads" section for each member's Mediafire archive, though you must look at the rest of the website to preview them.

Another smaller site that has not released too many textures yet; it has just started providing downloads too their detailed roster. Chaos Control also has it's own Texture Manager program, so if you're interested in textures, definitely check it out.

Small but consistently updating, Bonzai has plenty of textures on the production line. They seem to really like Sega, and available downloads can be found on the "Downloads" page.

The newly renovated Metal Militia has lots of characters, and even stages! You just need to look through the blog entries or roster and check if there's a download; only some of the artists have made releases. MM is also NOW RECRUITING!

Its crazy awesome textures draw you in, only to find you can only download a few of them!!! Whatever, they should be available soon.

Despite the plural name, this site's FAQ states it is a one-man team. No downloads yet, but the updates look promising.

Has lots of nifty characters, and even stages! Simply click "\PN Selection/" and select who you want, and there will be a download link there in the entry.

Epic Smash Bros.GT is a small website with several character and a few stage textures, but they also have their own forums and BRSTM collection! They are still fairly new, but are accepting new members. Downloads can be found under "The Roster", although some of the links are broken.

Continually updating with :psycho: textures, all EST's downloads can be found on the downloads page.

Collections
These are home to individual people's textures. They update sporadically.

Check out his large variety of character textures.

C.O.M.E.T. ~ Collection Of Melbourne's Epic Textures
Original and intriguing, definitely check these out.

Peachkid's Textures
Mostly Touhou textures, all Peach. Check them out!

A collection of cookieM0Nster's stage textures he uses from different websites.

It's like cookieM0Nster's collection, but 10% more ULTIMATE.

knuxrouge's small but inspired SWF-exclusive texture creations. Contains a STRAP SCREEN TEXTURE!

Character Select Portraits
Some websites have them with the download, but a package of commonly used ones is HERE.

Phantom Wings has granted us a great ability, to be able to edit Brawl's textures without the need of burning a disc! It took him an arduous amount of work to do it and I honestly think he deserves a lot of credit so, once again, thanks Phantom Wings!

Guide:

You're going to need a few things before doing any of this:

The latest version of Gecko OS
An SD Card
The Homebrew Channel
An SD Card Reader
Code Manager

Once you have all the necessities here's what you need to do:

1. Put Gecko OS (once unzipped) into a folder in your SD Card called "apps" (should be in the root of the card) and drop the Gecko OS folder into there (if it is not a folder and just three files, create one and put the three files in there).

2. Create a folder called "codes" in your SD Card (outside of the apps folder you created earlier).

3. Open code manager and get one of the codes below (based on your region, PAL, NTSC, or NTSC-J) and set up your .gct (If you don't know how to do this, just ask someone in the thread, I'm sure they can help! Or you can just create a text file and import it into the code manager).

NTSC:

4. Save the .gct as "RSBE01.gct" and save it to the codes folder. You're set now with the codes. (If you are PAL, call it "RSBP01.gct", and NTSC-J call it "RSBJ01").

5. Now here's the tricky part everyone seems to have trouble with understanding. It is not very hard to understand at all, read carefully. Make the following directory (meaning folders) in your SD Card:

NTSC-U: private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/fighter
PAL: private/wii/app/RSBP/pf/fighter
NTSC-J: private/wii/app/RSBJ/pf/fighter

Now, inside fighter you would create a specific folder for each character based on how their names are stored on the disc, the list for that is below.

Code:
Captain Falcon:	captain
King Dedede:	dedede
Diddy Kong:	diddy
Donkey Kong:	donkey
Falco: falco
Fox: fox
Mr. Game & Watch:gamewatch
Ganondorf:	ganon
GIGA Bowser:	gkoopa
Ike: ike
Kirby: kirby
Bowser: koopa
Link: link
Lucario:	lucario
Lucas: lucas
Luigi: luigi
Mario: mario
Marth: marth
Meta Knight:	metaknight
Ness: ness
Peach: peach
Pikachu:	pikachu
Captain Olimar:	pikmin
Pit: pit
Ivysaur:	pokefushigisou
Charizard:	pokelizardon
PokÈmon Trainer:poketrainer
Squirtle:	pokezenigame
Ice Climbers:	popo
Jigglypuff:	purin
R.O.B.: robot
Samus: samus
Sheik: sheik
Snake: snake
Sonic: sonic
Zero Suit Samus:szerosuit
Toon Link:	toonlink
Wario: wario
Warioman:	warioman
Wolf: wolf
Yoshi: yoshi
Zelda: zelda
Green Alloy:	zakoball
Yellow Alloy:	zakochild
Blue Alloy:	zakogirl
Red Alloy: zakoboy
So, a directory for Captain Falcon would look like this: private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/fighter/captain

6. Once you have all the folders you want for the characters you want textures for, visit a few texture sites (listed below) to grab cool textures you like (this list will likely grow over time):

Stack Smash
Kitty Corp.

7. Once you have the textures you want, you need to name the texture file the color you want to replace. Each number represents a color of that character, so, 00 = default, 01 = first color, 02 = second color and so on. Now, the order of the colors can be quite confusing for each character so here is a convenient list of that below.

Here's an example of what a Captain Falcon texture file would be named if it were replacing his 01 color: FitCaptain01.pcs

And here's what the directory would look like with that finally included: private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/fighter/captain/FitCaptain01.pcs

Every character does NOT need their .pac file but, you need to name the .pac file the same way you named the .pcs file except without the .pcs extension (just the .pac extension instead) so Captain Falcon's .pac file would look like this: FitCaptain01.pac (of his first color, you need to change the number according to what you set it to for the .pcs, this is merely an example, it will not always be 01). The characters who DO need their .pac files are below:

Code:
Samus/ZSS
Zelda/Sheik
PT
Bowser
Wario
.pac files are mostly used for the other modes outside of versus modes, so, you do not need them if they are not the characters above. The reason why the characters above need them are for their transformations, otherwise, the textures get lost in the sea of the abyss when you transform or switch (PT). Also, for ZSS, you may need to use a CSS code with her to get her to work better (as her textures need to be loaded from the CSS if you are using v 1.1).

8. If your textures did not work, make sure your directory is set up accordingly or you didn't mess up on the color choice, check EVERY color if you really don't know which one you put it on. The codes DO work, you're just doing something wrong.

9. Otherwise, you have done it! Congratulations! You have successfully put textures on your Wii! These textures are in no way permanent, you have to load the codes each time you want access to them and NOBODY WILL SEE THEM ONLINE UNLESS THEY HAVE THE SAME CODES ON AS YOU AND THE SAME TEXTURES AS YOU! Also, Gecko OS has a 256 line limit (due to the Wii's RAM limit) so please try not to add anymore codes than that after the texture codes have been applied. Textures also do not show up in replays if you watch them without the codes on (in other words, the replays do not store texture data). However, Snapshots DO save the textures even without the codes on (this is obvious) so you can show off to your friends that you can do texture hacking now!

And no, this does not work for custom music.

Can't seem to follow when I mention where the files go? Or, you can't figure out HOW to make the .gct? Watch this awesome video guide below by illinialex24!

Steps 1-4 from the character texture guide still apply so skipping to Step 5.

5. Make the following directory: private>wii>app>RSBE>pf>stage>melee

6. Your texture needs to be named like this: STG[insert name here].pcs

7. Load up Brawl through Gecko OS and you should be good to go. If you are having any problems, ask questions in this thread.

Music

This is a tutorial on how to make a BRSTM file, which is Brawl's music format. It's lacking a lot of visual aid right now, but bear with me and follow the arrows, they'll tell you where to go.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
BrawlBox (Smash Workshop General->BrawlBox v0.64 is the current one, download is at the bottom of the first post)
Audacity (For volume fixes, if you don't care about volume, Goldwave works for looping too, but this tutorial uses Audacity)
The value of the song you wanna replace to put it in the game (for example, A01 replaces SMB Ground Theme on Mushroomy Kingdom)
An mp3 of the song you want in Brawl (there's several great online Youtube->mp3 converters, I recommend dirpy.com hint hint wink wink)

Once you obtain the mp3 of the song you want in-game...
1. Open it up in Audacity
2. Edit->Select All (also ctrl-A)
3. Effect->Equalize. Make it look like this (doesn't have to be exact).

HOLD ON A SEC! Test the song RIGHT AFTER you Equalize to make sure it sounds loud but not crackly. If it sounds crackly, reopen the mp3 and...Effect->Normalize, then Effect->Amplify. That'll fix the crackly noise, although it will be a little quieter in-game
4. Once your song sounds good, export it as a .wav file (File->Export Entire Project as WAV)
5. Now, look for points that look similar in Audacity, they'll be your loop points
6. Mark the approximate time in the song (note: if you want exact values on the last two steps, use Goldwave, PM me on how to get it free, good BRSTM's take some time)
7. Now, open up BrawlBox DON'T CLOSE AUDACITY, it helps for reference in Step 11
8. File->New->BRSTM Audio Stream
9. Find your song, wherever you saved it
10. It'll come up in a seperate window with the total time of the song.
11. Now, listen for 2 points in the song where either it sounds similar or there's a repeat of a part played earlier (most game songs have the latter)
NOTE that not all songs loop, if that's the case, just loop the whole thing!
12. Fiddle around with the loop start and end values to get a SEAMLESS loop (when the song sounds continuous without a break, you'll know when you have done that)
13. Once it's looped to your liking, hit Convert to BRSTM
14. File->Save As
15. Go to (whatever drive your SD is)/private/app/RSBE/pf/sound/strm
16. Save it as the value of the song you wanna replace
17. Put the SD card in your Wii and you've just made your own BRSTM! Congratulations!
About Yoshi's Island (Brawl) Obstacle Course: When you replace E06 you must also replace E07 and cut the song at its half point. What's the reason? Well, if you just replace E06, when it changes to Winter Obstacle Course will still play! Then when it changes back to Spring or Summer, it goes back to the song you replaced E06 with. Why cut it in half? Because the season will change and if you don't, then the song will just start over again when Winter comes... and that won't sound pretty. Or you could also just change E07 to a different song and have 2 songs on YI (Brawl) Obstacle Course.

The other solution for this is to use Phantom Wing's My Music Swap code to switch Obstacle Course with a song you haven't changed yet and then replace that song accordingly on YI (Brawl) and than you won't have to deal with E07 at all.

Special Thanks: Phantom Wings, Igglyboo, Nuke (for his awesome homebrew application Gecko OS making this all possible!), and Link for his awesome code manager and WiiRD application that allows users to hack the Wii and make awesome codes like these!

Ah, how could I forget Das Donkey? They should be releasing in a few weeks. Since they don't update often, four textures takes longer than you'd expect.

Meowmix has some amazing textures =) Definitely the best tiny team.

Personally, I really thought the DasDonkey textures are worth the wait. They look pretty detailed.

You can also add FitArtex, which is a team a part of StackSmash I believe.

You can find a lot of texture teams here.
http://stacksmash.cultnet.net/brawlhost/
Also if you look around on a texture site's affilates/links, you can find even more texture sites.
A lot of those are really too small to be in the OP, IMO. Maybe I'm just lazy. :p
If people recommend individual websites I'll usually add them, as long as they're more than like 2 textures (it's a lot easier than going down a huge list at once).

Merging this thread with Clonehat's Texture Database thread for sake of cleanliness. I'm sure he'll be courteous enough to link to the post in his OP.

Why thank you~

By the way, we should REALLY get this post stickied. I agree with the idea of not wanting to cruise around the entire smash workshop to find some of these places. ._.

Good stuff Finman, but can you give me a link to the Mediafire page with everything on it?

And JackHarvest, I think it will be stickied eventually, I'll ask Almas...

I have a question about the character select portraits. Do I send the ones I want into their chartacter specific folders in my "fighter" folder, where do I put them? And what is the difference between the "small" and "big" files. Is the small like the actual character face icon, and the big, the selected character portrait?

Well, I'm glad you asked. We've designed a complete walkthrough for CSP creation that has 22 pages of pdf picture goodness. Click below:

Your question should be answered about half-way through the guide. Good luck. :)

I have some questions about the Pit arrow textures.

What If I want to have different colored arrows for different outfits? Like I want green arrows for green Pit (who would also have a texture on as well), but Black arrows for black pit, ect. What would I rename the files? Do I name them "fitpitXX.pac" (or .pcs) like a normal texture? Or fitpit(color)arrowXX.pac?

And what about the slashes? They came with two files. Do I need to use the FitPit file that came with it, or can I replace that with my own textures? (or do I need to put them both?)

You need Both, one is for when he draws the arrow in his bow and the other is for the fired arrow, they use seperate files. And sadly you can only use one color at a time. You put both files in pf\fighter\pit and you are done, they are named correctly etc.
So I think I answered both of your questions, if you don't understand something ask and I will try to get back ASAP.

Updated my post with 2 more textures, Japanese Superman and Cyclops =]

Can I post stage textures that I downloaded? If so, I have a lot of really good stuff that people will most likely want.

Here: http://www.mediafire.com/myfiles.php

That link just leads to myfiles, which would be the exact files of anyone who has a mediafire account. For example i click it and see all my textures...
What I did for this, was upload all of them in a folder, then link to the folder.
