Added a CSP by TCRhade, 11/18/09!

Update, 11/17/09! Added a new version of Giga Bowser, which is easier to kill and thus more in line with other characters.

Update on this character! The original file modified a variable that caused crashes on winning. I mistook that for glitchy Giga Engine codes... but now it's fixed! Crash-free!

This time something a little more interesting than a few hex changes. So, here you go: Kill-able Giga Bowser!

Still very menacing. He remains wholly unchanged, except for one thing...

When you deal damage, he actually budges.

Giga's a little absurd in my first version -- he's probably equivalent in strength to two characters. So, I've made a more killable Giga Bowser.

More Killable Giga Bowser
http://www.mediafire.com/?ymnzizjwvmj

Strong Killable Giga Bowser
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?4ajyyljiyjj

Be sure to rename the file to FitGkoopa.pac and place it in SD Card:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\fighter\gkoopa.

----

Now the technical explanations:
Due to Giga Bowser's unflexible nature, the knockback is strictly reliant on the % dealt and Giga's current %. This means that trajectories and specific BKBs and KBGs are not taken into account. Giga Bowser cannot be spiked or sent straight up, etc. Being reliant on damage alone also has the unfortunate effect that moves with no knockback can make him flinch. Like Fox's laser.

However, I did make it so Giga ignores the first 3% before getting knocked away. (I'd make it the first 3% of any hit, but I couldn't. That's something I'll work on.) So, if Fox shoots him with a laser shot, nothing happens. Two laser shots, however, causes him to flinch.

So! The upshot is, Giga flies in an arc when struck. He typically dies anywhere from 200 - 300% 140 - 200%. He cannot be killed off the top. Due to his extreme size (and thus comboability) I'd say he could possibly be balanced. I wouldn't know though since my testing was limited to Training. So!

Known Issues:
- Doesn't account for trajectory/knockbacks/special effects (unfixable)
- Non-flinching attacks can flinch
- Multihit attacks may not be very effective.

Now that that's all taken care of, enjoy!

P.S. Thanks to Dantarion's OpenSA for helping me find the damage variable! And naturally thanks to Phantom Wings for PSA.

EDIT: Thanks to freezinboi280 at the Kittycorp forums for the bug report leading me to fix it.

Hey hey hey, you forgot to credit me on that, Eldiran. =P I was the one who came to you in a dream and told you this was possible through the fighter.pac. >:3

Hey Eldiran... this looks awfully similar to Giga Kooplus...

:p Great job on this. HAHA I'd test it if I didn't have homework...

Oh, and please PLEASE do the same thing with Warioman. :)

And get rid of his unfair recovery via arials...

:)

I LOVE YOU ELDIRAN.

Haha, thanks M0N. Unfortunately I can't do the same for Warioman because, if I recall correctly, he doesn't take any damage in the first place.

Hoy! I have a very simple character submission. Admittedly it's not a full character, but I'd like to submit it here for a couple reasons:

- to make myself feel better about starting my own thread
- because I'm not doing anything else with it
- so that someone can take it and use it for their own creation

So here you go! Samus with Ice Super Missiles and Stun Bombs.

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?lmm0jwnnw2h

All it is is me practicing some very basic hex editing. I changed flags on some projectiles, so that Super Missiles freeze and bombs stun. There are no other changes.
o-O

I was 4 weeks or so not here and you are now able to edit projectiles or what o_O ?

How ??? (A link to a thread/post would be enough and very nice ^^)

Btw. I may start a new project soon, I just need a good idea and I think a lot of help because I cant do much since I stopped following the PSA discussions xD

I modified the projectiles via hex editing. Essentially I directly manipulated the code in the character files -- none of this is possible using PSA yet. Here's a topic directly about it; later in I explain the exact process I used.

Is there a way to edit sonic's final smash? Maybe through hexing or taking out the article without freezing the game?

He's probably using the Custom CSS V3 and Giga&Company Engine v1.1
do you want those codes?

Nah, I found 'em. Thanks anyway. They seem to be rather unreliable as far as Giga Bowser is concerned, however (mine crashes after every match).

So I've recently tried the Falcon PSA Omega Falcon by Awesome Turtwig, but it occasionally freezes my wii in the middle of a match. This only happens if this character is on the screen.

Can anyone tell me how to avoid this, other than completely removing him?

None! I tested an unchanged Giga Bowser .pac and it worked perfectly -- and then I edited Float[101] in that .pac, and it consistently crashed. I changed the corresponding float in my killable Giga and now I can't get it to crash.

...Looks like I need to change my CSS then. XD Also, if you've got time, do you mind helping me out with something real quick? I've been trying to finish up this Hyper Sonic moveset but it keeps freezing no matter what I try to fix. >_o

Finally! A flinching Giga Bowser! Dude, you made my day! I might actually start using this guy again...

I've always preferred Melee Giga for the simple reason that he was vulnerable.

Is there a way to make his shield break? Oh, right, no dizzy animation...

Challenger approaching: Shadow Beast Ganon

Shadow Beast Ganon 1.1 is now available!

I've been going over different possible names, including from The Abomination, The Kong of Evil, and The Freaky Zombie Monkey from Hell, but until someone comes up with a better name, I'm just going to stick with The Shadow Beast.

I created him for two reasons:
One, because despite the fact that some moveset swaps from the old days were nearly good enough to become true characters in their own right if not for T-Stancing and freezes, and despite the fact that PSA has the power to make them work, you just don't see a lot of PSA hacks to turn those lovable abominations into viable characters.
Two, because I've wanted to create a RAGE COMBO character since the beginning of PSA. In fact, my first PSA idea was RAGE COMBO FALCON!!! but I was unaware until recently that a variable for creating a 'condition on hit' had been discovered...

Enough talking. Here he is, in all his glory.

In case you aren't familiar with moveset swaps, he's a fusion between Ganondorf and Donkey Kong - shrouded in dark flames, to boot.

His most unique property is the RAGE COMBO, of course. Initially, Shadow Beast is very weak, dealing only 1 or 2% damage per hit, but as he lands attacks consecutively, his attack power will skyrocket and his body will become surrounded by dark fire. At maximum power, he'll get a 10% attack bonus on most of his attacks, making him a killing machine once you know how to use him. He doesn't get a knockback increase from this power boost, so you can keep on combo'ing your foes till the cows come home. His long reach, combined with surprisingly floaty physics, quick attacks, and low knockback growth, makes him perfectly capable of pulling off these long combo strings.

Shadow Beast has one serious weakness, though - he's HUGE. A little taller than Bowser at shoulder height, with the proportions of Donkey Kong, he's easily the largest fighter on the roster. Because of this, he can be combo'd quite easily, and expert air-combo characters like Jigglypuff or Meta Knight can easily carry him off the stage if you're not careful. A small consolation, though, is that being combo'd causes his Rage to rise, although not as much as if he's doing the attacking. Furthermore, because of his height, some of his basic attacks will actually go right over the smaller characters, so expect to use his down-A a lot. Fortunately, his long arms give him tremendous reach, and his attacks are much faster than you'd expect from such a big character, so he can keep opponents at bay.

He also can vanish into the shadows, becoming invisible as he dodges, giving him a mindgaming advantage. Not only this, but his Down B move, Vanish, lets him become invisible until he gets hit by an enemy attack, although shield-dodging will cause him to lose his invisiblilty. He can also be given away by the effects he gives off when he dashes or double-jumps. Also, there's quite a bit of ending lag on the move, and because of his size, he's not hard to hit even when invisible, and furthermore, his rage will drop twice as fast while he is invisible. You'll want to use this move wisely. Whether or not you try to stay invisible as much as possible or whether you hardly use the technique depends on your personal playing style.

As of version 1.1, he can now use Down B to reappear, creating a burst of energy that damages nearby opponents. It's hard to use properly and is only decent in power and knockback, but he strikes a pose while using it, so it makes a nice new taunt, at least! (No pic available yet.)

As for his other Specials, they are similar to Donkey Kong's, but with a Ganon twist. Here they are:

B: Horror Claw

This is what happens when you combine two of the hardest-hitting fists in the Smash universe. Horror Claw is a little closer to Warlock's Punch, except for two things - it cannot be reversed, but it can be released early by letting go of the button, so it isn't as punishable as the Purple Punch. It has three charge levels, the first being about as powerful as DK's Giant Punch at no charge, the third being on par with Warlock's Punch. Also, Shadow Beast's long reach increases the usefulness of the attack.

Side B: Skull Rush

Sort of like a mix of Ganondorf and DK's Side-B, Shadow Beast rears back and rushes forward headfirst, burying any opponent he runs into. It's good for surprise attacks and can also be used for recoveries, but like the Flame Choke, can potentially send you over the ledge if you're not careful. Unlike Flame Choke, though, it does not put you into helpless, so if you're quick, you can still use Up B to recover. Being unable to hold the charge of Horror Claw, the burying can't be used for DK's Headbutt>Giant Punch combo, but it does set up the opponent for a series of rage-building quick attacks or a finishing smash attack.

Up B: Dark Vortex

It isn't quite as good at recovery as Spinning Kong, but it has the Ganon-like effect of sucking opponents in, not only building up serious damage but also causing Shadow Beast's rage to skyrocket if you land it perfectly.

Final Smash: Beast Ganon
Well, there wasn't much reason to change this, except that after Beast Ganon rushes off-screen, Shadow Beast automatically becomes invisible, setting you up for a surprise attack on anybody who managed to evade the Final Smash.

Here is the new version. Remember, you have to put both the FitGanon and FitGanonMotionEtc in the Ganon folder, or it won't work!

http://www.mediafire.com/file/fn0iydjyrjv/ShadowBeastGanon1.1.zip

Changes since last version:
Invisibility now causes his power to drain twice as fast as before.
He is now able to use items, but only when he's visible. If he becomes invisible, he just drops them.
Final Smash now has a working animation without a T-Stance, and causes him to become invisible right after using it.
Using Down-B while invisible causes him to reappear and strike a pose, sending out a burst of energy to damage nearby enemies.
UTilt graphical error fixed.
Darkness effect on Up and Side smashes.
Minor sound fix on B neutral.
Bair now turns him around. Not that it matters much, seeing as how his Fair and Bair are pretty much exactly the same, but it fits better with the animation.
Side-B changed to Skull Rush.

EDIT: The texture used in the pictures was from Silven's hack pack. It was the most suitable one I had, although if someone would like to make a hack specifically for this creature, I wouldn't object. Something long and skeletony... And without the cape, which stays rigid and his butt sticks through it. :p

EDIT: Here are two videos showcasing Shadow Beast. Thanks Fools Gil!

Whoa! Let's not forget to give credit where credit is due, brother! All of the texture hacks we got from Silven's hack pack, I dunno the name. And yes, I was playing as Eldirian's (Spell error :O) Zero in that picture up there. I think that covers it...

That Ganon is horrifyingly awesome. I very much approve. If I had to offer criticism, it would be these few points:

- Some darkness element on his smash attacks would be nice.
- During his up tilt, the wrong hand glows.
- Side+B feels kinda weird.

And that's all I can think of. Rock, rock on.

Eh, I have some criticisms on Ganon. Some of his aerials, specifically his Fair and U-air have small hitboxes with HUGE blindspots next to him. So to place it right while DIing towards you opponent is very tough. And it seems that every enemy, no matter how big or small, is always completely safe from his dash attack if they are standing on the ground. Maybe expand that hitbox a bit.

Oh, and i'm not sure if this is related to HIM, but for some reason when he got hit a couple times by Mario's Final Smash the game froze. It's never done that before with Mario's final smash, so I'm just saying it MIGHT be linked to him. Maybe his rage rose a crap ton? Oh, whatever.

But anyway, REALLY nice job, I enjoy going to the bridge of eldin and putting on an epic battle between me and a team of link and zelda with small handicaps. Grats!

And sorry about the huge quote, I removed it. I realize that was pretty stupid of me. :3

(p.s. it's REALLY fun confusing the **** out of my friends with his Down-B. Some people have learned to judge my locations by the camera angles though, but they're never percise. :p he he he)

Well, he wasn't exactly a well-thought out character. I basically just took a whole bunch of ideas I wanted to test out and threw them together without much thought for balancing, playing style, etc., so chances are he's not going to end up in the official roster unless someone wants to take the trouble of balancing him, although I suppose I could fix up the specific points brought up by Eldiran and PhantomPhungus.

My real intention is to try to restore interest in character creation by showing that, between all the move swaps available, we've got several hundred new characters to choose from. So far, all I've seen is Manchu. What about Olimario? Zero Suit Luigi? Psychotic Warrior Yoshi? Ganondwarf? Boomerang Sword Mini-Ike? Texture hackers might be able to find a new niche as well, since many of these characters look potentially viable, but very different from their original forms.

I, too, would like to contribute to this. I KNOW one was already being made, but, oh well :p I wanted to make my own. Introducing...

Dr. Mario!

:drmario: ~Moves~ :drmario:

F-Smash: Electric Glove
Doc stands back, building up energy, and steps forward, his hand charged with the power of thunder! Watch the enemy sail!

D-Air: Fire Kick
This move came with Segab's SS Mario. I'm gonna change it though, but I don't know what to make it.

Side Special: Cape Coat
Only a cosmetic change. Texture (In the MotionEtc.pac File) originally by Hax2theMax.

Down Special: Shockingly bad tasting medicine Tornado
Dr. Mario spins wildly, with each connecting hit zapping the foe!

Neutral Special: Whatever this was called in melee...
Can it be? Has the pill returned to the doctor's glove once more?

Well, sort of

It spawns pills, but he doesn't throw them right away. Actually, he doesn't throw them at all, unless you do it manually >_>

See? Kind of takes away from it... I'm working on it...

:drmario: ~Other Moves~ :drmario:
Side Taunt: Wind-Up PAWNCH

Just one of the victory poses. I changed it because he no longer will have a hat to take off!

I have a halfway finished Wolfachu hack if you feel like finishing him.I've already fixed all of the hitboxes but each of his specials T-Pose him.

Wow, this topic ain't what it used to be...

Anyway, now for something different.

I tried this out yesterday, and this is definately the most unique / interesting character I have on my roster! Even though there are little parts of it that can be improved, i'm definately going to use him! You did a great job on Shadow Beast! =]

If only there were more unique characters like this one though.
(I wanted to try out Manchu, but I have no idea where I can get an unedited Ganon Motion PAC)

Hey everyone! I'm new here and have a couple questions. First, is there a reason Phoenix Mario and Zero are not listed in the OP? Second, I have some feedback on some of the PSA's and was wondering where I should post that. Should I post it here or are there specific topics for each of the individual PSA's. Thanks!

Basically, it's because this is where all the PSAs go if they either:

A: Aren't good or unique enough to deserve their own threads, or
B: Are made by people who are humble or considerate enough to not make their own threads.

Most of the characters that are either

A: Deserving of particular honor and mention, or
B: Created by stuck-up individuals that think they deserve particular honor and mention

have their own threads. As a rule, those that do not deserve to survive end up as necro-threads, but you'll find specific threads for, say, Zero or the Genos. This is where you'll find the rest of the hacks.

BTW, Has anyone else experienced a glitch with Electric Luigi (blanced) by Awesome Turtwig? My game freezes on occasion when someone charges his forward smash.
