No, I have the same problem. Zack & Wiki models just refuse to work D:
I will correct myself: Zack & Wiki mdl0 DO work.
Proof:

Just delete the first 8 bytes in red but DON'T delete the others. Then, add 8 F's instead of 12.

Also:
Kamen Rider Climax Heroes W uses mdl0.
Pirates vs Ninjas Dodgeball doesn't use mdl0 (.tpl and .SSwm instead). Sadly.

Edit:

From Kamen Rider. Some nice stages there.

Okay Even the same model used in the tutorial doesn't work, maybe there's a problem with the .ARC extractor.I use U8Tool.
What program do you use? please help!

Anyone know how to get these models working with other characters motion files? It just stays in the T pose when doing any animation (trying a new waluigi model over my current character)

You can either

A. hex the new Waluigi model's animations to make them work in brawl

or

B. make all the animations from scratch.

no, i didnt kno it mattered. i thought it was all about the bone indexes
Just so you know, if you were to look at animation files then you would see that it has the list of bones for that animation. The names DO matter because the bones are listed in the animation file and it looks for those names. The bone indexes matter too, but if you only have bone indexes nothing will happen. If you only have bone names right then the bones won't work as well as they should. So it's good to have both.

I got the animations working, they just stretch him out weird and glitch him around sometimes since I couldn't match up the bones exactly, but this is definitely important progress. Can you send the texture? I wanna test this out in game.

You can definitely fake wall cling. You can add crawling and wall cling and have it function and look as good as real wall cling and crawling... Gliding can also be added, but it'll be kinda ugly (the character won't angle himself when you angle up or down). It'd actually work and look fine for Knuckles though.

However, it is definitely much harder to do these things than just adding in a few attributes.
Yes, faking wall cling would be worlds easier than glide. Knuckles over Pit or something, then add in wall cling through wall detection would be easy enough.

Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors uses mdl0; although they're packed in .fpk files. They barely need editing though (no need to delete bytes to preview them). I think this game has some nice models from bosses and such.

Edit: LOL WTH. Animations work without editing.

Edit2:

That bad-*** dragon could also work as a stage hazard or something for a Fire Emblem stage. *ideas*

(I'd love to texture hack that into King Ghidorah, haaaaw X3)

It has animations, and a lot of bones. Someone do a moveset for him!

Also, please note: you don't need to change ANYTHING to preview DQS models AND animations in Brawlbox. They have the same file structure as Brawl @.@

What about the materials/polygon headers? Do those need to be corrected? D:

Arch his back a LITTLE more. And MAYBE his arms need to be moved out a BIT. But it would be fine/great if left as is.

Materials header seems correct in Brawlbox, so does poligons'. Can't test them right now, but my guess is that the models will show ingame without any modifications.

Hey RandomTBush, just saying, maybe you should keep a list of incompatible games as well as their model files, maybe one day were able to convert xxx format into mdl0 so yeah =D

MadWorld was checked already, but I've added the rest. I wouldn't expect 2D games such as A Boy and His Blob to have MDL0 files, anyway. :V

Has Pokemon Battle Revolution been checked for mdl0 files? I'd assume it almost surely does because of the list of pokemon earlier in the topic and the fact that several of the pokemon in Brawl have models out of PBR in the first place, but I just want to be sure.

I swear that needs to be stated in bold, red writing in the original post. :p And even then I bet people will still ask.

Could anyone send me a fixed Mewtwo model from PokePark Wii? It will be much easier to make custom animations with him than to base him off Lucario. That is, if you guys want Mewtwo. Oh, and who says I plan on putting him on Lucario anyway? You could enjoy your dream fight, and kick the butt out of Lucario.

Well, that would be rather pointless not too unless you plan on making a full hack alongside DD's. :/

Well, it's not my choice, but I would completely replace lucario... When you get the model, would you mind forwarding the PM to me too?
