I don't really care about the healthcare reform effort that much, what I'm really pissed off is about is our socialized police and auto insurance laws.
I am FORCED to buy auto insurance, even though auto insurance isn't mentioned in the constitution ANYWHERE. And I've never had to call the cops, not even once. I don't see why my tax dollars should go to pay for something I don't need and don't want. Socialized security forces. Both unconstitutional but I can't find and legislators who share my concerns.

Yeah Rick, look at the nations current deficit. I try to keep myself informed on as many things as possible. One of them is following what Obama does. So far I am very unimpressed. I never was impressed because the man promised to much and he was a very smooth talker. This Health Care plan is very... well organized. It is a bad thing. Americans will be unable to pay the taxes that will be thrown our way and it is unconstitutional to have a health care program that is controlled by the government. We will be paying for abortions, people on welfare and illegal aliens. Illegal aliens wont have to pay for it though. To make matter worse if you are over the age of 64 you are considered a burden and you will not be covered for ANYTHING. Nursing homes are going to be thrown out the door. Isn't that what the IRS is for though. You pay a fraction of your income to cover retirement. Well, that just got robbed from you Rick. They just took thousands of dollars of your hard earned cash ever since you took your first job and gave it to some bum who wont go get a job. Granted, some need help, but not all of them and defiantly not the aliens. I am very very very unpleased when it comes to how Obama is conducting himself as president of this nation. I want to join the Marines and fight for the freedom of humanity and the preservation of liberty! He is defeating *my* purpose. Another thing that pisses me off (I am not directing this to the exchange students, lol) is when you get some young person who is just regurgitating what little bit of information has been spoon fed to them. I get my information from reading the bills and from several news websites.

I don't really understand the healthcare system in America and I'm not sure how many people actually do. In a year's time I'll probably have quite a strong opinion on it though.

You guys can argue the good points all you want. They are there. There is some good in this bill, but at the end of the day you will realize that politicians are sneaky rats. You need auto insurance to make sure that you don't screw someone (and yourself) over when you wreck their BMW and have to pay a lot of money that you don't have. Police is the same as insurance; if it were voluntary, there would be no way to tell who paid and who hadn't. Even if you haven't had to call the cops before, how would you like it if someone was holding you up, but the policemen nearby knew you didn't pay them so they didn't step in?
EDIT: No one here understands the concept of a government. It's essentially a contract that you don't have direct control over. If you disagree with it, then you can either put up with it or leave (voiding the contract).

AFAIK this bill doesn't abolish private healthcare companies or anything. If you want better insurance, you can still buy it. I haven't read the bill extensively, but I've gathered that private healthcare companies will still be around for people who want more.

I don't know what Health Care reform you are talking about Green Kirby but this one provides federal funds (tax payer dollars) for abortion operations.
This reform is unconstitutional because the Government is forcing the populace to pay for something they do not want to pay for. That is why there are like 13 states rejecting this.
75% of the United States says no according to a recent poll. Our representatives did not represent what we wanted. Thus, it is Socialist.
