One grows weary of eating **** from the administration of SmashBoards after working so hard to give back to the community in every other respect. It's not my problem that the place is run by an army of immature, power-tripping warmonger teenagers. Lovely argument from a systematic perspective, but in the context of human decency, it loses.

"Serious." And that's the problem. Everyone takes everything so personally and gets all defensive when (up until recently, I suppose) every post I've made is in support of improving the community from an objective point of view. But that didn't really get me anywhere, so here I am collecting infraction points while hundreds of thousands of "minor spam" posts litter the regional zone sub-forums by the second, all unpunished. But I don't want to start listing problems and get off on a tangent. I'm running out of energy for that sort of thing.That hurts my feelings, randalooooo.

Randall00: Please take this issue to Forum Disputes, or PM me. Your case deserves attention, but this thread is not the ideal venue for it.

During my premie time I was given the impression that my avatar and title will not change when i lose it
well my title is there, yet my avatar (which apears at the topic of the forum by the user cp link) does not display on my posts. I have not changed it either

It was probably lost in a forum upgrade. There have been issues with custom avatars recently. Just PM me the image and I'll put it back for you.

Rep originally was supposed to be used to recognize good posters, however, people started taking it too far. You could only rep someone every 24 hours, so some people started using other accounts to get rep. The thing is it was to recognize good posters, and good posts, not to make some sort of minigame within the site. They would have to make it so much different.

Making 3 letter words searchable apparently slows down the search feature by a huge amount. Another solution is to enable specific 3 letter words in the database.
For example: Wii, Pit, SSB, Mii. Can anyone think of any others?
Yeah, that was me that preached the magic of truncation. I was wrong though.
You, still can use it-- but It won't be reliable. For example, I just tried searching Ken*, and it came back with 'Ken.' The period was yellow, too-- so it counted the period as the wildcard.
So if you're looking for a three letter word, use truncation, and just hope that it's at the end of a sentence, posessive or plural.

It's constantly going down, and yesterday for a greatly extended time.

The problem with the server is that we have more members visiting than our current servers can handle. If the traffic doesn't go down, we're going to have to upgrade to a bigger server that can handle our increased traffic. For now, we just need to wait and see if this is just a summer thing, or whether traffic will continue like this after the summer ends and people are back in school. I'm sorry if it's delaying your surfing, but it wouldn't do to upgrade to a more expensive server only to have it go to waste.
Eorlingas, as far as I've seen, there is no way to possibly search through the PMs. I've never seen an option for that anywhere in the AdminCP.
Scav and whoever else was helping, we already have a list of the most common three-letter words searched for white-listed:
vb vbb php sql swf ssb smb fox roy dr. pit kid dk ice mlg evo go fc fc2 fc3 tg tg5 tg6 ken doc 1v1 2v2 1v3 ffa ic mpg wmv avi dv vid btt hrc btp tt chu dat dsf ds rev gcn ps1 ps2 ps psp gb gba gbp gbc nes n64 best boo red ash pac man mii ray ike tio tia
For some reason, with one of the recent server upgrades, the white-listed words can't be searched for anymore. I just saved the settings again, so perhaps that worked. If not, then I really don't know what to do. Gideon or Kirby King will need to take a look at it.
And yes, we're having glitches when Premium Membership runs out with members losing the custom titles and avatars they had. Simply PM a Supermod or Admin and we can fix it for you. And don't try to cheat, because when we go to fix it, the custom avatar you had is still displayed, unless you change it to a default one. We simply resave the settings, and this fixes the glitch. So don't try to say that you had a custom avatar, because it will be obvious if you did or not. Simply don't switch to a default one, and PM someone who can fix it for you.

Why is it some words on posts have a long black bar goijg across them for me? They arent swears, and if you highlight them, it shows what the text says. I.E "I think that bowser is r8 smelly, my broth- *BLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAACKKKBAAAAAAAAARRRRRR* -on the game."

Some black bars actually, at the pixel level, have tiny variations that allow them to act like a magnetic strip (like on a credit card or other type of SMART card).
This one here:
actually contains the same signature as my credit card. Of course, it's pretty hard to make a copy onto the proper medium and actually put it onto a card, so only the most determined (read: nobody from SWF) will try to do so and make purchases with it. Which is why I'm not worried about posting it here.

I've been checking my yahoo for about a week, and found it odd that I haven't received any 'reply to thread' emails... I checked it today and had 86 emails. All from here. But their dates ranged back to like the 23rd. Did the boards have something done with the email system or is the problem just with my yahoo?
