Textures now possible without ISO Hacking! (File Patch v3.5.1, fixes info.pac problem

MASTRLINKX, your textures pack is just awesome and works perfectly for me (only got a freeze with one of Jigglypuff's textures, but it seems to happen often with him, also got a problem on a burned iso...). I'd like to know if you allow me to put the link to your pack in my sign on some forums, so people can try it, just like another pack I made myself (with less textures and no CSPs anyway) ?
Also I made a short video to show some of the CSPs of your pack. Thanks again for it :)

Could you or someone else make a torrent for the pack, it sounds like just what Im looking for but when I try to DL it, it gets halfway through the DL and then just stops.

Yes it does.

Why the textures aren't showing up on wi-fi? I made the textures package and gave it to my friends but we can only see our character texture
Only characters with pac files will show up on wifi for your opponents character. Not sure why, but the only way to fix it is to generate the pac files yourself for all the characters that don't have one.

Where do you put the custom select portrait images in the SD card?
You have to run them through CUPAsh first, you don't just slap the tga files on the SD card.

Did you resize the characters after cutting them out from their original pictures? Photoshop tends to automatically smoothen the edges by making some pixels semitransparent if you rezise. If you put magneta below the character those pixels won't be the exact FF00FF format and thus won't be made transparent by ASH.
I know of two ways to fix that, either rezise the character's image before removing its background or color the background magneta AFTER indexing it, that way photoshop can't smoothen anything.

I just started trying this, but I can't seem to get it to work. I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong, I even watched the video on the front page.

Could it be that, all of the textures I downloaded from kitty corp, weren't zipped files? the video mentioned I would have to unzip them but all I got were .pcs files

if anyone could help me I'd really appreciate it!
.pcs files are the actual reskins themselves, so you don't need to worry about unzipping them.

Here's a tip to consider. Make a new layer and then color that layer with Magenta. Next, place that layer behind the character portrait layer. That should do the trick once you've given the image an indexed palette.

Is there a chance that someone with working textures and portrait images via SD card, can upload their "private" folder. That way other people that want to just check them out can easily download it.

Hello all... quick question... should the SD card we're using for all of this be a new one? (one without any other data on it.) I was planning on using a card with snapshots and replays on it but I don't know if I should.

the codes aren't applying with my GeckoOS anymore :confused: it just stays at the loading screen of GeckoOS. Please help if possible. (No I have not updated to 4.0)

SSE Emerald + Metal Box?

Obviously you use a metal box as part of the trick.
Why?
The G&W's are not differing in brightness.

The red stripes could possibly be a use of emerald color though I am unsure.
Or it can be photoshopped.
Eitherway G&W can't be texture hacked.
No metal box used. I just extracted FitGameWatchDark.pac (SSE Emerald color) drew a red line on it then saved it as FitGameWatch00.pcs.

Oh okay, so then when I download them (to my desktop) I just drag the reskin (say it's firelucario.pcs) through all of this "private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/fighter/lucario" and leave it inside of the lucario folder under the new name "Fitlucario01.pcs. Does all of that sound right? :/

Maybe you aren't renaming the files
Once I have the skin in the folder I change it to Fitlucario01.pcs to make that his new red suit, but it's not coming out. That's what you were talking about right?

Can you make a bright red Game and Watch? Similar to the brightness of Cyan G&W?

I still don't know how you made a G&W texture lol.

SSE Emerald G&W actually has textures, so you can edit it for that costume.

LOL Viet I was about to post that screen. I'm probably going to put that in my game, white Game and Watch is too good.
Nice to know I spent 5 minutes recoloring stuff to white to please someone.

Awjeez, more CSP drama... I ran Step2.bat and got this message:
"big so&so does not have an indexed pallete. it will be ignored."

These .tga files are ones that I have downloaded before and they worked perfectly before, so can someone PLEASE tell me what's happened here before I tear my hair out?

You might of did something wrong...

If said above still didn't help...
...Are you guys using PAL, or JPN versions of brawl?

If you are, it might be the Common5 file only works on the NTSC version of Brawl.
That's the file that is loaded at the very beginning of brawl start-up, and that contains the CSP's.

If you ARE using the NTSC version, then you have to be doing something wrong.
And can anyone confirm if the CSP's on my Download show up on PAL/JPN versions of Brawl.

Okay, got the CSPs on track... but it looks like I'm having the same problem as couple others here. They're not loading on the CSS. I can see them on the Results screen, beautifully.

Someone mentioned using the v1.1 of the SD Loader, but that didn't change a thing. Help??

it's coded to just pick a random mp3 file in that folder. It makes use of the fact that brawl was originally going to use mp3s, so the code is there in game to use them, but they took it out because they thought ppl would pirate their music or something. It's actually relatively easy to code the ASM to get Brawl's MP3 engine working. Most of that code is getting the random file from the SD card (since i can't write it to just do a same name replacement :( )

Only PhantomWings can make such a code, and what you just said is disgusting.
