Order of play

Game 1
Each player chooses a controller slot.
Each player has 30 seconds to select a character or to call "Double Blind" selection.
You may not change characters once it is declared.
If a character is not selected after 30 sec., "Double Blind" selection is mandatory.
Stage knock-outs are declared.
All players must agree to the first stage, otherwise it is "Random" (see Random Select Stages listed above)
If the time limit runs out, winner is the player with the most stock.
In the event of tied stock, winner is the player with the least damage.
In the event of tied damage, Sudden Death is played out.

Game 2
Loser of Game 1 declares stage to be played in Game 2.
Winner of Game 1 declares character to be played in Game 2.
Loser declares character to be played in Game 2 and begins the game.

Game 3
If each player wins a Game, a third game is played to determine "Best of Three"
Loser of Game 2 declares any non-banned stage to be played next.
Winner of Game 2 declares character to be played in Game 3.
Loser declares character to be played in Game 3 and begins the game.

Additional Rules

"Double Blind" allowed for Game 1.
Stage Knockouts are allowed.
Random select stages cannot be knockedout.
No stage may be used twice in a given match except Random Select stages.
Finals (and Grand Finals) in the Winner's Bracket will be "Best of Five".
Stalling tactics and glitches that freeze the game or characters in the game are unallowed.
Illegally modified controllers are disallowed for tournament play.

On another note T.v's, GameCubes, Wii's, Copies Of Smash and Memory cards are always welcome I don't need them to run this but if you have extras we can run the tournament much quicker.

Well, I don't have any john (at the moment) for not showing up. So I'll be there unless something goes wrong between now and then. And I'll make sure to bring money this time.

I am sorry everyone for the small typo.

I will not attend this for several reasons:

1) There will be an inadequate amount of vegan-friendly food.
2) Apparent lack of cosplay, Jigglypuff disguise is a must.
3) Riot once lied to his mother.
4) God ordained this a holy day whereunto and hither no fire is to be kindled, including electronic devices activated through electricity.
5) My grandmother got 1st place in the last Empire Games tournement using Yoshi.
6) Pokemon Diamond/Pearl is too good.
7) Gimpyfish will not be attending.

Please look into fixing these problems and I may attend and bring at least 50 of my friends as well; If we attend we will bring at least $100 of MM funds with us. kthx.

Alright that sounds better but we need to set up as early as possible so try and be there early James so we can get things ready to go.

If I go will you raise the entrance fee to $10, since I'm from WA? Bart and I would like to go but I think it should be 10/20.

Ill show up for sure for at least friendlies, if it ends up being $10 I might not play in the tournies but not a big deal.

Like I said "IF" Washington comes that means anyone from the price will go up to 10$ it will make it more worth the trip down I have been talking to EGGZ on myspace and seeing if he is coming down lol we might have more Washington that I though.

Don't forget we do have housing for Washington.

If I have the money which I am sure I will we will also have a BBQ and a bunch or Pizza at the event.

I hope everyone can come and play it's $10 a small price to pay for such awesome fights.

David, update the first post. Change the entrance fee to $10, now that we have confirmed WA. Also edit in the fact that it's not starting at 12 or 1, but registration at 12 and starting promptly at 1.

I am also going to try and bring soap and Boi <-- Bunsin) they are GUNS friends and Gun is going to be there like the first Empire games tournament my crew will be there that's another 5-6 heads to count.

My friend Trung said he can make it anyone remember him (Smashtendo)

Gun might bring his best friend Jin who's a pretty good Gannon and Jins cusin wilson which I haven't seen in like about a year and a half.

Yeah, I know who you're talking about. I can see if Phil can make it out to the area for the tournament, but i believe he works Saturdays. I'll talk to him tonight, hopefully.
Wouldn't mind getting in some games in before the tournament. But right now, I'm pretty much free on the weekends. Can do weekdays, but has to be after 5 and preferably in the Beaverton area.

Here are all the things that will get Eugene to come:

1) Carpooling with someone going up there
2) Gimpyfish being there
3) Free entrance fee
4) Back massage with said free entrance fee
5) Low-tier tourney

If anything, #1 will get at least two from Eugene there.

Oh, by the way, the money-getters of this tournament will be encouraged to donate some of their winnings to help fund 0C3. This is the first tournament Oregon has had in quite some time from which donations can actually be taken. Since the people likely to win are also people likely to go to 0C3, then this can be used towards that.

The other option we can discuss if it's a mostly Oregon sweep is using the donation money to help us get more people down there, meaning having it go towards our gas expense. Having $50 go straight to 0C3 might not be as beneficial to them as having 1-2 more people come and enter for $75 or whatever it is this year. I'll try to talk to mana and see if this is a viable option.

This is a good point, I'm sure they'd make more money getting a carload of people down there than they would getting a donation of $50.
I doubt it'd ever happen, but Smash Aid to pay for out of state Smashers who are close enough to drive might get more attendees.
But, who knows, maybe they have more people then they can handle and would rather just get a straight donation instead of dealing with more people.
