Did I discover a new glitch??

Ok so me and my friends were playing tonight, and my friend was marth. We use marth a lot because he's pretty broken with the fsmash and stuff. So here's what happened.

My friend as marth, was DDing around and he went to grab... but the grab missed! We paused the game and stared at each other awestruck. I'd never seen that glitch before and i was wondering if anyone else had???

When you say the grab missed do you mean that it went through you or he was just out of your range for a grab?
