To perform this technique: jump, when ur at the same level of the platform press down, immediately let go of down and perform any attack, its easiest with C stick.
We discovered this on March 14th
This technique needs to be progressed, please provide questions feedback and ideas to help utilize this! thnk u
Has anyone been using this technique consistently??? If so can u post some videos? Candy, ChozenOne, and I r really trying to incorporate it into our game but we dont have anything on a consistent level.
Stages this works on Thanks to Leafgreen
Yoshi's Island
Lylat Cruise
Smashville

Very interesting, good find, so this works with all characters with a moving platform?
Edit: I'm practicing this, and it looks like it could be a VERY useful technique on Smashville. Pretty hard to do, and VERY hard to do if you jump with control stick like me, but i'll make it work.
Great discovery thanks.
Can you do this out of a double jump?
Edit 2: This technique works on Pirate Ship, both platforms, seemingly all the time

U can if start the second jump while under the platform
This could be done in Melee, and even on stationary platforms. It was just done from above the platform rather than below, and it required that you hit your opponent.

So then... this couldn't be done in Melee?
If you know it's not the same thing, why even post?
Anyway, I had accidentally done this a couple of times, but didn't know what I was doing, thanks.

Its different from Melee. U dont have to click L or R to do it, u can click a smash and u'll do the smash u chose or u can do some specials. Melee u would just air dodge, u couldn't perform a smash. In the video u'll c candy do a straight smash no ducking or sheilding prior to the smash.

This look really interesting, is there any sort of limit to this like using your second jump also a lot of people are talking about how it needs to be on a moving platform but can you do this on a non moving one?

It's fundamentally the same thing. If the end result is that you hit your opponent, it works nearly the same way. In Melee, you start on top of the platform and hold down. While in the middle of the animation, do your aerial and you'll 'auto-land' back on the platform. Conceivably it could be done from below the platform, I've never tried it.
EDIT: I guess I misunderstood what the original post was trying to say. This isn't platform-canceling, it's a completely different technique. The ability to auto-land smashes and tilts is incredibly useful. Great find!
