How do you fight Ike?

1. What is your general opinion of Ike as a character?:

While he's a huge powerhouse with tons of range, I love me some slow characters without projectiles .

2. What moves do you fear from Ike?:

Everything. When play as a light character Ike is very scary.

3. Which moves do not trouble you at all?

Every one of his specials are easy to gimp. His Fsmash sets him up to get owned by a QAC nair.

4. Which moves/techniques do you use against Ike to gain the advantage?:

Camp with Jolts and QAC nairs and Jolt his recovery.

5. What specific edgeguards do you employ versus Ike?:

Jolts DESTROY Ike. Seriously. If you're off the stage (unless you're super high and you don't have to Aether to get back) you will not get back on the stage if you're fighting a Pikachu.

Just be careful of QAC is the best advice I can give. It will punish Ike's moves to hell and back because of how fast it is. I can easily zip in, nair, zip out. And if an Ike tries to attack me in the process he gets punished for it.

well, looks like i'll be making a contribution to this lol.

1. -.- not answering i main him.

2. Fair, that kills at 90%.. Eruption cause that stops any attempt to skull bash back to the stage.

4. camp to make him approach. attempt to chain grab but if lag is against me then no chain. down smash if Ike gets to close. Forward smash if i land it. QAC is good too if you can do it.

5. Jolt aether and thunder Quick Draw. if you quick draw high you're free falling and Pikachu can easily keep up to hit you.

A swordsman.

Anything involving the sword.

Anything that doesn't involve the sword.

Whatever keeps me out of range of the sword.

5. What specific edgeguards do you employ versus Ike?
Anything that keeps me out of Aether's range.


...in case you haven't noticed, those answers are laced with lots of sarcasm. I'll go into specifics if you tell us your normal approach against Pikachu. Lol, reverse-information collection....

A character who can KO me at 70% and has an annoying 3 hit combo.
2. What moves do you fear from Ike?
The ground 3 hit combo. His smash attacks, and his Up B.
3. Which moves do not trouble you at all?
His Side B.
4. Which moves/techniques do you use against Ike to gain the advantage?
Take advantage of his weight and lack of speed.
5. What specific edgeguards do you employ versus Ike?
Creating a wall with Thunder, though it doesn't normally kill him due to his invincible recovery.

It's a discussion of the matchup between Ike and Pikachu, therefore it involves Pikachu, therefore it does indeed belong in here. Now shut up because I'm not in a good mood and feel like venting on the internet because it makes me feel cool.

DanGR people come to the pikachu forums either to learn how to use Pikachu or how to fight against Pikachu.

its best to learn from someone who knows how to use pikachu how to beat a pikachu.

Slow and strong, lacking projectiles. Easy prey for Pikachu.

His Side+B and Side Smash

Thunder Jolt + Chain throws.

5. What specific edgeguards do you employ versus Ike?

Thunder-wall (Jumping off and back on, using thunder as a wall guarding the stage), and F Smash work great.

...Why don't you ike players find this 5417 out on your own like normal mains...
