How do you fight Ike?

1. What is your general opinion of Ike as a character?
- Can be a pain if you're not careful of him. I suppose you could say the same for almost any character though.

2. What moves do you fear from Ike?
-The obvious answer is forward smash, I guess. But since that's broadcasted from a mile away, it's sort of easy to get around. Gonna have to say the counter on this one, and maybe aether (big maybe).

3. Which moves do not trouble you at all?
fair, quick draw, fsmash,

4. Which moves/techniques do you use against Ike to gain the advantage?
Lasers obviously work wonders, same with reflector to a lesser extent. Generally I just try to keep one step ahead, and more importantly out of range.

5. What specific edgeguards do you employ versus Ike?
Laser him as he charges his quickdraw.


Don't exactly have a wealth of experience against a good ike, so the above could very well be completely wrong when you're up against a good one.

i have a hard time with ikes AAA combo
other than that, most ikes i play are to slow for me!
dont edge guard ike very much other than lasers, and if hes above platform i would back air, but impossible to edge guard ikes upb

Hum, sorry, but as a Falco mainer, i don't fear Ike AT ALL. :s
But yeah, he can be dangerous if you don't pay attention...

Hum... Up Smash, Bair, and Counter at close fight.
But if i space well with lasers and reflector, he's done ^^"

FSmash, UAir, Dair (Dair is impossible to use against Falco, due to his Phantasm)

4. Which moves/techniques do you use against Ike to gain the advantage?

Lasers spam, Phantasm, and Chaingrab to Spike.

5. What specific edgeguards do you employ versus Ike?

Horizontal : I just throw myself in front of him, with a Bair or Dair.
I should maybe consider Lasers...
Vertical : To dangerous to chase, i hang the ledge at the last instant.

no need to flame.
ike's bair comes out REAL fast.
you can get some unexpected ko's with that if you space it right.

Says the guy who's probably never played a decent Ike in his life.

and yeah, this totally has no purpose outside of spamming and annoying.

On a serious note, I need to fight some good Falcos. My aim is VersatileRTC and my friend code is on the left! Hit me up!

I especially want to fight good Falco because besides MK I feel this is Ike's worst match up.

I don't fear anything from ike except quick draw-->AAA. everything else can just eat a laser.

-Ike is not so much of a threat against Falco. But it also depends on the player behind Ike.

-Any KO move that kills me at 70-80% x_x

-None give me trouble.

-SHDL and Shine into making mess up and going for kill. Shielding = Nice

-Give Ike a Screw you Bair to the face or shine in the Air

"Can't let you do that." Play the ultimate disruption, Ike's poor mobility and lag are enough that a decently fast character weilded efficiently has enough to stop him from doing just about anything.

Jumping straight in front of QD, he falls to his death, plus he's guaranteed to do it if he's far out enough.

A few things.

Don't spot dodge as often as you might against other opponents. His moves have a lot of duration, and might catch you out of your dodge.

Back throw -> Fair from Ike might catch you a few times if you don't now about it. (This is at the edge by the way).

After the Chain grab you can try footstooling him to follow-up the spike, but if he survived, don't edge guard, you're just going to get hit by his Aether, so back off and let him on. You are still at an advantage.
